How balanced do you think the media cover the Israel/Palestinian "war"?

Below is my opinion of media bias in a letter to Wayne Ezell of the Time-Union, Jacksonville, Florida

In today's Times-Union, an article by Ben Feller of the AP states that Bush will say in his radio address today that "Eighteen months ago, Hamas took over the Gaza Strip in a coup..." Feller reports that "Hamas-run Gaza has been isolated from the rest of the world since the Islamic militants won parliamentary elections in 2005. Then Hamas violently seized control of the Gaza strip in June 2007, expelling forces loyal to the moderate Abbas- the "coup" to which Bush referred."
This is bullshit, not news. Hamas won large victories in both the West Bank and Gaza over Abbas's PLO in Rice and Bush's vaunted democratic elections.. Then the US and Israel orchestrated a coup against Hamas in the West Bank which prevailed. When Hamas repelled the coup in Gaza it is called "violently seized control." The rest of the world know that this is as much nonsense as Hussein's weapons of mass destruction, but maybe US citizens will still believe the Bush/Condi Bullshit Squad

Haven't been paying that much attention, however last night watching CNN made me want to gag. The coverage was all one sided.

When I put on CTV and CBC on, I found they were more balanced, though leaned more to the Palestinians.

 

It's becoming harder for all media to show only the Israeli viewpoint. And the Israelis only have themselves to blame for that. You can't wage a lopsided offensive and cry victim at the same time, and be believed.

 

oh and they store children and innocent civilians also! was the israeli army 100% sure that they store weapons there? i bet they were! just like the americans were sure of weapons of mass destruction in iraq... only savages kill children to destroy a couple of weapons that do not exist... why am i even arguing with u, ur israeli, ofcourse ur gonna side with ur country... eventhough these tanks are made in israel theyre as efficient and high tech as US tanks.... wars are not fair, you said it, thats why suicide bombers are born because of the injustice... so you have complete faith in ur governement and media? no doubts at all? did u try reading and watching other sources? no! cuz theyre all lies except for ur holy newspapers and media! have u ever heard of something called propaganda? anyways you call me douche, u say im full of shit, you call me ignorant, u make fun of the way i spell, and i havent attacked u once, this shows how much of an opinionated person u are... im not gonna call u names or insult you cuz im on a higher level than you... its over! reply to my last post and im out of here!

When you have the family connections he does, I have no reservations about referring to him as Jewish. It was his upbringing.

Even gazing over the Wiki entry will tell you his background. His grandfather was a sitting member of the ADL. That means the family is among the Jewish elite. He may have converted to Christianity and then to Islam later in life but his "roots" are in Judaism.

Perhaps his allegence as well.

If you were to ask members of his familiy what their lineage is, they would say Jewish.

His grandfather would shout it from the mountaintops, because thats what people in the ADL do.

I don't share the Jewish view of lineage, but they do, so it has to be dealt with.

You have to include the social fabric that is born out of religious belief too. This is where the line between religion and culture becomes blurred. Modern Jews aren't afraid of losing their religion half as much as they are about losing their identity in society. They don't know who they are, and zionism has warped many into thinking they're a race again.
