Cough syrup. Cough syrup composed of Codeine and Promethazine. Well, now you wanna try it. Although you don’t seek it out, your interest is sparked. In the music industry, it sounds cool. Next, your best friend gets it prescribed for a cough. He lets you try some. It makes you sleepy and feel good. You’re not a junky yet. You don’t even have a drug problem. Its all just fun and games. Your friend doesn’t like that it makes him sleepy. So he lets you have it. Next, your sharing it with other people who are curious.Next thing you know, one of your friends says he got prescribed some lortabs for a foot injury. He tells you it is just like syrup but it doesn’t make you as sleepy because it doesn’t have promethazine in it. He tells you that you can just take one pill and you don’t have to drink any nasty syrup. So you try it. Hydrocodone is way better than codeine. But you’re still not a junkie. You’re still not even a drug addict. You have just found something identical to what you were drinking, but better, and more convenient to take. So now you’re looking in your moms medicine cabinet to see if she has any pain medication. She has precacets. What are percacepts? It says take one every 4-6 hours for pain. Same thing hydrocodone says. It must be the same thing. Well this “percacet” is a lot stronger. This one is like taking 5 hydrocodone. Wow, now I only have to take 1 of these and its equivalent to taking 5 of the other pills? Wow, this is so much more convenient. Now your taking one before school. Once your limited stash that your stole from your mom is gone, You ask around your circle of friends if they have any in THEIR parents cabinet. Next thing you know, someone says their brother has roxys. Whats a roxy? “It is equivalent to taking 6 percacets” they say. They are only 15 dollars. I can split my roxy in two and it’ll save me money. Now your taking them everyday because they are SOOO cheap. The high is amazing. One day, a friend tells you that you can snort it and it works faster, and gives a more intense high. Well, you love the high so much, a MORE intense high sounds amazing. Next thing you know, your snorting two or three a day. Now your habit is getting expensive. You have to lie to get money for it. Now your starting to question whether or not you have a drug problem. “No, I can stop at any time, I just don’t want to” you tell yourself. “This is getting kind expensive” you tell your friend. He says “ well I know about this stuff my cousin sells that is cheaper and makes a better high, and its already a powder, so you don’t have to crush it.” IT’S HEROIN. But you don’t care. Its cheaper, better, and that is all that matters. You love it. Its like the first time you ever got high all over again. You can afford this. $ 10 worth of heroin is equivalent to 50 dollars worth of roxys. Your doing it every day. Now your tolerance has gone up. Now your doing $75 worth of heroin and day. your doing horrible things to get it. But you can’t stop. You get violently sick if you don’t have it. But I want to stop. Now you can’t stop. Your trapped. So over the next couple of months you just try to maintain. You do just enough to get by. But your not getting high anymore. You can’t afford to get high. Well, being in a circle of heroin users now, someone tells you about shooting. Its better than the first time you ever took a pill. “Its amazing” they say. So you try it. Now your an iv user hooked on heroin. In society, n;’h[gow your a drug addict. Now you have a problem. Everyone is disgusted by you. Your family turns their back on you. Now your depressed and using drugs. Now your using more and more. You drug dealer has some really good dope. What he doesn’t tell you is that he cut it with fentanyl. The End.
