...media controls slaves....(no offense)...media controls life today...its just like monkey see monkey do...and thats not the best way to go through life...the doors..i think their music was awesome...i loved it...the media shows u whats beautiful and whats not...thats prob. one of the reason some people are insecure...thats my opinion on media...just like morrison said "Ur all a bunch of fuckin slaves!"..

It was a magical time back then, and drugs were a brand new thing. There were no strung out coke-fiends or crack heads like today, drug users actually were seen as cool by most of us. The smell of pot was everywhere, even though I had never smelt it before, it was obvious that's what it was.

As far as the Doors were concerned, I was a total music freak (and a budding keyboard player) and I absolutely LOVED the Doors music. I remember them coming out very late, and that Morrison was so stoned that he actually "performed" 90% of the set laying flat on the stage. At the time I thought it was so very cool. But now as I look back on it, I think he was a pretentious asshole. I'm sure it's because my view of the world has changed so much, but if someone came out on a stage today totally wasted, and just laid on the floor and gave a half-assed effort, I'd be pissed as hell.

All that being said, it's a night I'll never forget. Truly a landmark in the evolution of the psychedelic music movement.

The doors can be addicting like crack cocaine be very carefull how you handle it if you are a depress or have long depressions avoid songs like The End im not kidding this is from my own personal experience . other wise the DOORS are one band with very powerfull lyrics and even erotic. the 60s is not complete with out the Doors.or Jim Morrison. Arthur Rimbaud was Jim Morrison favor poet. this is were many of Jim M. dark side come from.

The Beatles, Zeppelin, The who, The doors, they did it because they wanted, they were the kings and they knew it. Ever look at the old videos of them performing, practicing. They fucking rocked and they knew it and they weren't controlled by the media.

Simple plan, good charlotte, these are pussy boy bands dressed in a rock outfit, they're poseurs, they're pussy whipped pansies who know nothing about what rock and roll is.

These people I mentioned above were rock, the living embodiment of the soul and spirit of rock and roll, it's passion, and they commanded an army of followers.

These stupid bands all sound the same and they're tailored to sound like rock. They're artificial, they're bland, they're safe. You'll never see Zeppelin on Leno, You'll never see The Beatles on MTV, you'll never see The Who on TR--fucking L!! God, it makes me so hogwild!!

No one wants to be dangerous, no one wants to say "fuck you", and that's why there will never be another "Doors", "The Who", or "The Beatles".

I would lay down all my possessions to go back...god I'd love that.

i agree with you for the most part, because it just so happens the music that fits my taste (not all, but most) was recorded over 30 years ago. but you can't say that htere aren't any good new artists either, i mean, it's very improbable that the only musicians with "real" talent were around such a long time ago, and there will never be another talented musician.

Arthur Rimbaud was brilliant, just like Jim. I love them both. Jim Morrison's poetry is something really special to me, and The Doors lyrics are amazing. They make me think, smile and daydream.
