And what about the facts that also suggest it has happened before, many times?

Unfortunately, what will happen will happen. The industrialists and those in thrall to them, are afraid of changing or slowing the world wide industrial machine because that means slowing the flow of money to them. The question to me is=What if those that say global warming is real are wrong and we continue on the same path? No consequences, except being wrong. What if those that deny global warming are wrong and we continue on the same path? Huge consequences that could actually affect the whole of life on earth. Which path makes more sense for us?

There is no doubt scratcho, the climate change alarmists are right and anyone who disagrees is a heretic.

Maybe some day we'll all be standing in water up to our knees with our hair on fire hollering--"not true--it's not true--it's only temporary". Of course ,maybe not. I sure as hell am not a scientist. Just a dumb-ass roofer that tries to use some logic. (occasionally).

As you can see for yourself, in the image below, as of YESTERDAY, the Northwest Passage is nearly completely clear of pack ice. I doubt that has happened since eons ago.

No, just let the OIL companies, and THEIR "SCIENTISTS" tell you what to believe. I'm sure they only have your health and the welfare of the planet foremost in their minds.

You sound like a PAWN McLeod, and I'm losing what little respect I had for you.

yes this is a much bigger deal than the ice caps themselves.. as this will release a tonage of CO4 into the atmosphere...

As a society.. We have much more to worry about than global warming.. its just a matter of time before the US becomes the next Cahokia or Easter Island story...

    You mean CH4?

Look, the climate is going to change, it always does. Whether we are the cause no-one knows. Some claim to know, but they don't.

All the satellites and measurements in the world, nor the biggest computer in the world can tell us that.

I personally feel that it could be related to the possible shifting of the magnetic poles, but I don't have any evidence to back that up soz, other than the coincidence of the two.

It also might not be. I don't think CO2 emissions are having anything other than an insignificant effect on the climate.

I think it's more likely society is suffering some form of mass PTSD following the last century and 911.

I also think point Johnny Ball made a salient point in that article I posted about alarmist views alarming children and the effect it has on them and future societies, I dunno could we come to call them Generation Y, or Z maybe? I know- Z C**ts LOL

No not really because name calling and character smearing are the lowest forms of debatery.

ah yes.. thank you for that correction.. CH4

Also there is some balance maintained with ice caps melting.. as these still glaciated areas slowly thaw.. they in turn are full of very rich soil which almost immediately becomes a CO2 sink absorbing more CO2 than was once being absorbed.. areas that have sporadic forests will turn into lush forested areas..

like MLG said the world is constantly changing and we have no control over it...

the camel's origins go back to the North Dakota region.. an animal that's use to dry.. arid desert.. in North Dakota.. omg.. that must mean that the ND area was not always a frigged cold place that it is 9 out of 12 months of the year

at times i just think that the human mind goes "Everything in the world revolves around us".. and that we must be a key to every problem in the world.. come on get over ourselves!

And for anyone who might be concerned about the imminent 'flatulent' period that is coming, methane gas itself is odourless. It's also very light so if it is released into the atmosphere it will rise up, so you can still smoke your cigarettes or your bongs without fear of igniting the local neighbourhood.

LOL.. nope all of Alaska will be a methane only environment.. they'll forget what oxygen is... they'll probably start filtering their urine through coffee machines for water

Haa...h!! Right winger, but the stratosphere. Will it all break down to the heated soup of Venus? Or will the colder places make sense. Too bad the computer accuracy has improved it's theoretical mold for the business since that old political correctness.:2thumbsup:

No problemo. Me and Rick will just pray it away - as soon as we get rid of the Medicare ponzi scheme, get ramped up with states rights (or maybe, by God, we'll secede!), and show you Godless liberals how evolution is just a theory - with some holes in it. And you thought you had weird thoughts.

The biggest hole in evolution theory is how conservatives have NOT EVOLVED yet... Remember those who don't evolve go the way of the Neanderthals. Oh, wait, that's another thread.

    Please STAY ON TOPIC!

So Dallas and Houston broke records yesterday for their ongoing heatwaves.

Dallas 70+ days over 100 degrees this year.
