i'm really not trying to be a contrarian here or anything, but i just spent the weekend in trail country and this question came up. why is it perfectly acceptable for horses to shit all over the road, the trail, the sidewalk, or wherever else, while if a little pile of dog shit is left anywhere except the owner's own yard it's practically a mortal sin to not clean it up? i understand that it's not entirely practical to hop down from your horse every time it dumps on the trail, but it does totally ruin the whole area for everyone else so it seems like there would have to be some sort of compromise available?

not lawns, that i've seen. hiking/biking trails is mostly where i've seen it. also the occasional road or sidewalk, in horse heavy areas. and the beach i go to nearby, which allows horses.

although i bet at some point, someone has brought their horse to shit in an obnoxious neighbor's lawn. why not?

Hey, nice to meet you as well. Never rode a mule, heard awesome things about them. They can work harder and longer than a horse. And unlike a horse that can be rode to death a mule is not stupid and will say, Nooooooooo...lol

Right now I have 23 acres, as soon as I hit the lottery I'll get another 1000 acres and mules. Maybe a small herd of bison..lol Seriously though, I really want to ride a mule to see how they compare.

I was in Sandpoint, about 30 miles from the Canadien border. The last winter there I was splitting wood in minus 25 degrees, I said NO MORE. Now I reside in southeast Missouri. Lot's of bugs, yuck.

That was my assumption. All I have to do is use one horse to chase and run the other horse, beats running em in a round pen for exercise.

    Tha
t sounds awesome, would have loved to been there and seen them. See what you get with the outdoors, nothing like it. I live in the middle of nowhere and I'm a half a mile from a huge network of forest service roads, I spend a lot of time exploring, at least as soon as fall gets here and the damn bugs DIE.

On an Aussie saddle they have what's called poly's, they come in mighty handy if you have a stubborn horse. syd hill saddle.jpg I was test riding a new horse one day, and naturally most people lie about the horse being dead broke. Thank God I brought my own saddle, this horse wnt into a fast canter and jammed on the brakes for NO REASON, these kept me in my seat...lol

Why did you chose SE Missouri when you moved?
