It's October, and with that comes Halloween. Many traditions are celebrated during this time such as: pumpkin craving, trick or treating, telling scary stories, viewing horror films, and of course playing horror games. I have several fond memories playing horror games around Halloween with my father when I was younger. Games like Resident Evil, and Silent Hill. I always make an effort to play horror games during this time, whether it be a new game or back to the well to play those classic games I played years ago. I am curious if anyone else here has the same tradition of playing horror games in October as I do? This year I have the game Until Dawn to play on the PS4. This game looks very unsettling. Also I have been sitting on the DLC for Outlast for many months, this would be a good time to finally play it.
my gaming moods are too unpredictable to have any sort of traditional game for any given month. i tend to play one game at a time, two at most. and like i said, i don't really know how i decide what game i want to play, beyond a random desire to play a particular game. plus, i kind of missed the boat on the horror genre. i played resident evil 2 a bunch of times, and would still play it occasionally but it was stolen and for some reason it's basically impossible to buy a used copy of it without selling a kidney to pay for it. but beyond that, i always wanted to try more games, both from the resident evil series and from the genre in general, and i have no idea why it never happened, but it didn't. it's a shame, i love horror related things.
Yeah, I am the same as Undies. I'm bad at timing, I just go with what I'm into at the time. I'm also the same about the horror genre in particular: some games seem fun to me but I always seem to have others higher on the list. That I didn't miss the boat completely is because a friend of mine loves horror games and I usually take notice of them when i'm there. One game in this genre I still have in the back of my mind is Alien Isolation. I'm not in a hurry to get it atm but am sure I will This one appeals to me as well, is it as great as it seems? How far are you into it you think? I'm sure it is as hard as it seems
I usually read a lot of horror novels around Halloween. I don't get into the games as much ( although I play World of Warcraft and they actually have their own celebrations in game and they have a "Halloween" styled one for about a week called "Hallow's Eve")!
well asmo, it is a great game...punishingly hard though...and i would say im probably half way through it...
