Look, you can have your opinion and I can have mine. Columbine and newtown took place in gun free zones where it is illegal to carry concealed. But in the middle of a city street? There are over 1 million permit holders in florida. That guy would've been shot in the head.

During an open gun battle in the streets of miami those idiots would probably shoot themselves and miss the terrorists entirely

"Officer I was trying shoot the terrorist, I didn't even see that woman pushing the stroller"

To be fair, that seems to have taken place inside a private property - not on the streets. How is that supporting his argument?

    It's OK, when they finally are put down like the dogs they are, Oh excuse me, when they are "martyred", they may be a little disappointed;

What struck me when I first read that was that a gun welding maniac could have killed a dozen or more people whereas this guy was being challenged by people walking past and he was only able to kill one person.

I don't really think the whole knives are weapons too argument holds much weight because knives aren't capable of inflicting the same kind of damage as a gun. Unless you're a ninja.

    Spectacular idea!

Think the muslims will get mad if there's a character of Muhammed walking around signing autographs?

It is horrific that this occurred and shows how easily a life can end just for being in the wrong place at the wrong time.

I dislike the trend of a lone person who is obviously unstable and acts out on that being labeled as a terrorist. It happens far too often.

Well, see... then we gotta think about what a "terrorist" even is...

A terrorist...creates terror? Acts out of their religious beliefs-jihad?

If you agree...a freedom fighter? If not, a terrorist?

    and on and on...

The term is now used to describe crimes that are not in fact "terrorism". They are more often crimes by people who are mentally impaired for a lot of different reasons.

The guy was a nut, not a terrorist.

Yea...well, the other thing I was thinking of adding to my post but didn't was... "should the person or people have to be shown to not be legally "insane" in order for it to be considered a terrorist attack?"

I'm not saying whether it should be considered terrorism or not (honestly, i'm not sure..)- the guy might be insane. I don't know but I heard what he was saying...and if HE says it's for religious jihad reasons, then wouldn't by definition that be terrorist... if HE claims it is?

Then they should ban all the fighting clubs.

    And knives.

    And fists.

If a person uses deadly force to stop a crime they are responsible for what they may or may not hit behind their target. That's why carrying a gun legally is a big responsibility, this isn't the wild west.

I think the guns are a totally moot point.

It was done to be as brutal as possible, and make the biggest, most scary statement possible. The dude with the knife and cleaver walked up to a camera-carrying person to explain his motivations, and didn't try to kill anybody else.

The did have a (shitty) gun, and did not try to use it in the initial attack, because the point was a barbaric desert islamic style execution, not to kill him and be done with it.

They wanted to make a statement of brutality. They will cut your fucking head off, EVEN WHEN they have a gun.
