Honey Maid Tells Homophobes to Take a Hike in Best Response Ad Ever Honey Maid released a glorious response to homophobic idiots who didn't like the snack company's ads depicting gay couples with their children. Unlike a lot of companies who duck for cover under corporate double speak when controversy hits, Honey Maid is all LONG HAIR, DON'T CARE when it comes to the "outrage" sparked by their latestads. Via Consumerist: The Honey Maid spot, which first ran on March 10, has generated its share of negative responses, most notably a letter-wring campaign from the not-at-all-overreacting One Million Moms. "Nabisco should be ashamed of themselves for their latest Honey Maid and Teddy Graham cracker commercial where they attempt to normalize sin," wrote the group. "This commercial not only promotes homosexuality, but then calls the scene in the advertisement wholesome." Of course that statement is one the dumbest collections of words every put together in a sentence. But Honey Maid didn't bother to offer a meaningless, pandering apology or back off the issue quietly. Instead, they hired two artists to take the bigotry and turn it on its head. They made physical print outs of their comments and created the following video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cBC-pRFt9OM"]Honey Maid: Love - YouTube I loved this response so much I went out today and bought some Honey Maid grahams
We're so impacted and affected by the world .. near and far, small and large .. I don't think Honey Maid dismissed the complaints, though. They wrapped them up in love. I don't consider that a dismissal. The messages were still included and even acknowledged. The response to the negative, hater complaints is: Love. Very appropriate. Nice pic of you, Shale.
People who are going around trumpeting their "conservative" values will be facing more uphill struggles in the months to come. Corporations have become very aware of the benefits of inclusionary politics, and are rejecting the notion that anyone should be telling them whom not to include into the group of their prospective consumers/clients/customers. We should be struggling to get our freedom back. If I own a product, let me feel free to market it the way I find fit. And let the consumers decide if this works for them or not. KD
Here's the original ad that got the haters all upset. These haters also don't like the interracial family. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2xeanX6xnRU"]Honey Maid: This is Wholesome :30 TV Commercial | Official - YouTube Goes to show that civil rights struggles are for everyone, that the racist haters are the same as those against same-sex couples.
Two thumbs up... Love those ads, I know I'm dreaming but one day I wish there was no senseless hate. sexuality, race, religion or gender who cares.
