this thread has been fucking with my head all day (grrrrrrr). I was going to get on here and give a sermon but I don't think it would do any good.

Anybody in here who knows me knows that I've been (mostly intentionally) homeless since I was a kid. I've gotten to a point now that I can live in both worlds (mainstream and on the street/road) and pretty much sidestep the bullshit in either one (take the good, leave the rest for the poor slobs who don't know they have a choice).

I've never talked about the darker side of being homeless in here, most people can't handle it;
Mainstream friend: "Gee Naykid (not my real name) what's wrong"?

Me: "One of the kids who lives under the bridge, a 15 yr old girl, got raped last night".

Mainstream friend: "Well gee that's a shame but what do you expect"?

Me (thinking):Yeah your right. she should have stayed at home and been a sex toy for her step dad

Mainstream friend: "anyway *boo hoo* I just found out my cat needs gallbladder surgery *sob* WHY GOD? WHY!?!?!?!?"

Me (thinking): do not slap friend....do not slap friend...

 

this has gone way beyond a sensible discussion about being homeless, the argueing and bickering is because of how both parties are percieving each other
