Home is sometimes a noun. And sometimes it's an adverb, in which case it is a totally different word.

For example in the following sentences

    She went to her home.

    She went home.

it seems the exact same word. But in the first it is a noun, and in the second it is an adverb. Read them both again carefully and you'll see what I mean.
