To be honest at the moment I am finding the controversy around Holocaust revisionism a more interesting and important topic than the revisionism itself.

 

Sorry are you saying your thread was just intended to instigate controversy and drama?

Ok look man, I'll try to explain this to you. Speech is only free when it is tempered with knowledge and enlightened by wisdom. To say that the world is flat is not free, it is ignorant. When someone is ignorant they are being restrained by the shackles of unknowing. Only when freed of those shackles can we have free speech. You are right in saying that an ignorant men should have "free speech" and most of the time they do. That doesn't mean that their speech is free. Do you feel my vibe man?

 

Well you should have made a thread about that then. And why not be honest about that right away. Why did you post those videos for us to watch when you do not feel like discussing its contents? I don't think we are taking things too serious here or are too pushy, I think you have simply been a bit naive in making a thread about holocaust revisionism. Cause when you talk about controvercy around that topic you naturally also talk about the topic itself. If you don't know what it is about or can't specify that for whatever reason discussing the controversy about it can only go so far. Hence why we asked you.

Free speech is the ability to say what you want without fear of persecution by the government (or similar).

We aren't disagreeing, I am talking about the freedom of speech whereas you are referring to free speech. Entirely different approaches

 

ok erm... well... "free speech" does bring up the "freedom of speech" Wikipedia entry... let's just use that entry as our template!

 

I try not to be so against Israeli policy that it affects my ability to get on with others. Same would go for Holocaust revisionism.

Ultimately... we need to unite not divide. I also have an Israeli friend... I hope he didn't get annoyed at me due to my anti-Israeli stuff ._.

It's not the country I hate, or Jews or whatever... it's only certain, relatively small things

 

You already make a division when you proclaim which side you picked. Not saying you can't or something (except when you don't know the sides and the issue and all it's aspects very well). But it makes the statement unite not divide a bit lofty if not hard to take serious. Ah well I understand now that is the way you would like to discuss such things. Good luck with this topic then.
