E-mail, laptops, and other portable electronic devices have changed most office jobs to the point where nobody really knows what their working hours are anymore. I got very few after-hours messages during the last week and a half of December, and I got spoiled. Now it's back to business as usual, and I'm freshly aware of just how many late (and early) business messages I get from people who expects instant answers. That's one good thing about the holidays that I can't complain about at all. July 4th week is the only other time that there is nothing much going on in the business world.
