Hi! I used to drive through Nebraska on my way out west. I've had car trouble there twice, both times near a place called Lodgepole on Interstate 80.
did the mechanics in lodgepole put a surprise speed bump in the middle of the interstate to drum up business or something?
There are no mechanics in lodgepole; the population was only about 300 so I was screwed. I never did quite figure out why, during a 1,900 mile trip, that car would quit in that particular place but I think it must have been a problem with the fuel I was buying.
Thanks for the warm welcomes! I went to school in the town of Osmond, where the film by Alexander Payne, (who was from Omaha) filmed a lot of the movie. Also, my son lives in the same town now & got to watch much of the filming, so pretty cool. I also loved the movie! Yeah, sorry to hear of car troubles & could have been bad gas. I live closer to High-Way 81, so don't really know 80 very good. Nice to meet you all & so glad to be here!
