I hate when people are sanctimonious about trivial things like makeup...
Do what you want to do! The benefit of wearing makeup is that you can look however you want to look.

Its no big deal, i wear name brand name stuff, and i get it really cheap at this thrift store that only takes brand name clothing :) about the makeup thing, same here, the only thing you have to do is make sure ahead of time that the brand of makeup you are buying does not test on animals.

I think name brand clothing makes everyone look the same.
Same styles, same clothes, just different colors...
and I think it makes me people look shallow when they buy expensive tshirts and jeans...and not to mention, snobby.

I really don't see why something this sanctimonious has made it's way into a forum topic. I mean, the poster of the topic is fourteen. That should tell you a lot. I remember when I was fourteen. I wore makeup because in highschool, people gave you so much for flack about it. The girls at my highschool were extremely mean. But this unfortunate period of my life, caused me to grow a backbone. I no longer care. And I am biased into thinking that you shouldn't care either. Then, I see that you are fourteen. And I remembered that I thought the same when I was fourteen. It's okay, we're out here. There's tons upon tons of women out there in this world who are happier sans makeup and I am one of them. Now, that is an encouraging thought.

I don't really think brand names make everyone look the same. After all one brand dosn't want to look exactly like another. I think what you mean is that fashion seems to make a lot of people look alike. While I do agree that a lot of snobby people were expensive clothes dosn't mean that expensive clothes make you look snobby. Some people just like clothes. I don't seem to find much in comon with these people usually, but I don't like to ride people of as
    "name brand people".

I just see it as an economic problem. People would have more money if they didn't spend it all on expensive clothes and shoes and apparel. Who the hell in their right minds, are going to pay for an ugly designer purse for $500? That's rent, bills, and food. Or that can go toward paying all of that shit.

    ummm.. thanks?
well i personally wear makeup because i just think its fun, not for others.
and its not due to influence, considering the fact i'm almost the only girl of my usual group of friends who wears it.
if you were influenced thats fine, i've seen it happen it a lot with people in my age group. but, i make it a point to do what i want because i want to, not because of others. if i can be myself in front of everyone and walk around barefoot with unwashed hair and extremely different views and beliefs, make-up seems ridiculous to care wether people see me with it or without it.
and please dont undestimate me because of my age, but nonetheless this is a free speech forum, so preach on if you must.

Sweet wildflower, as a fellow woman I encourage you to do whatever makes you feel good. If you feel like wearing makeup, then enjoy and revel in your own power to choose! Some people like it, others don't (men and women, by the way). If you feel like you HAVE to wear makeup, however, then I think it's time to re-think your reasons for putting it on in the first place. Just remember to keep your skin healthy, so listen to it... it may reject certain makeup/brands/colours/or all makeup in general. Anyone who tries to make you feel bad for your choices is suffocating your RIGHT to choose. ...Or maybe I'm just high on some post-modernist feminist theories that totally rock my world.
    Peace energy to you all,

I like makeup...don't usually wear much, but it makes me feel good to wear it sometimes. Nothing wrong with that.

I'm a redhead too, so I've got light eyelashes...they need some mascara sometimes.
