Uhh...both are as bad but for a long time men were considered to be stronger than women and the dominant sex so because of that long history of sexisium, it is now assumed that it is worse with men. HOWEVER, IF A WOMAN HITS A MAN SHE STILL GOES TO JAIL...I saw it on cops and people were talking about it on one f those court shows. It's just because of our long, ignorant, past...for all the people saying men are stronger, Please...my mum could whip your assses lol. Plus women go through a lot more painful shit men dont worry about.

 

Well women do have to put up with menstruation. Besides that, what painful shit do only women have to go through?

• Men will, without a doubt, abandon a mother who was unintentionally impregnated.
• Men shouldn't defend themselves when attacked by a women.

Remember those facts and you'll understand why any kind of even minimally forceful physical contact or raising of the voice between a man and a woman is always the fault of the evil man.

 

Having been in an abusive marriage before , I still believe that the only time it is OK for a woman to hit a man is if her life is in danger , and THEn she risks further abuse , so it is better to just LEAVE.
Violence is realy NEVEr ok , for either male of female , but the reality is , sometimes you are put in a situation where you have to fight back , to protect yourself or your children , and MEN can be the victims of abuse just as much as ladies can be . It is sad when we must turn into something we arent , just to prolong our lives , and see to it that our children continue to be happy and safe . We teach our children that they shouldnt hit others ....maybe we should pay attention to the lessons we teach them , and practice them ourselves.

 

BIRTH lol. I mean, when u wake up in the morning, and it feels like someone stuck a knife in ur stomach and just keeps twisting and ur gonna die, all u can do is take meds and go to school. If u act a certain way because ur in pain then a whole bunch of nimrods start those rly tasteless jokes , "Oh, is it ur time of the month?" and crap like tht. Tht goes on every month. A lotta women, give birth, thts a world of pain and afterward, when she gets home, she is expected to do the same she was doing. It takes while to heal from tht but while the other person works and the woman takes time off to heal she is usually exected to managed the house. Even monkies in the wild die because of the same reasons as humans. Most female monkies and humans had shortaned life spans because of stressed caused by children or the males in their lives. A lotta stuff us ladies go through but we can't say anything a lot of times. A lot of stuff u should be happy u dont have to go through.Not to manetion the fat thing A man's fat he's husky,, a woman's fat she's discusting, or obese of unnatractive. The world is harsher towards women. A lotta other stuff..but I hate making long post. Plus, if I ever complain about all of the SHIT I have to go through, I'll get called a bitch and people will get mad at me.

Yeah, we don’t have to give birth, or have periods, but the other things you mentioned are equally applied to men. Men are also stressed, as with the shorted life span, the life expectancy for men is usually shorter. More men are murdered, more men (at least here in Australia) commit suicide every year. We are insecure, the numerous penis size threads show that, and the recent “are skinny guys a turn-off?” thread also show this. But the difference is we cannot talk at all about it. I’m not sure what its like where you are, but women talk about there problems all the time here and people don’t get mad at them. On the other hand, a men who talks about his problems is called a wimp, or gay. Not to mention the wonderful answerless tests we get from our girlfriends/wifes.

I’m not trying to undermine what you say, but we have shit that sucks in our lives to!

It has been my experience, though I do have male friends that beat the sterotype, that women have deeper emotional responses sprung out of reasons that men cannot understand, but are worth understanding bc they are genuinely more enlightened. So are we smarter or crazier? are both?

That was my experience, people in the past always reacted that way to me if what I said was considered to emotional/intelligent. Thats why although I have no problem talking to other people, its rarely personnal. Is sucks I know because even in an intimate relationship theres a voice in your head saying "you can't say that!"

It's not so much the double standards as the way the hardcore feminists perpetrate stereotypes like:

All men are potential abusers;
All men are potential rapists;
All men are potential pedophiles;
All men are potential murderers;
All men are potentially violent.

Feminism was supposed to be about women having choices and not just taking what was handed to them. It wasn't supposed to be about hate-mongering and finger pointing.

 

Birth is a given. Besides that, I don't think any of that stuff is relegated excusively to women.

Crystalsatreehugger: There seem to be a lot of women who think they're more intelligent, "complicated" and complex than men. I just don't get that. Just because you have had a few bad experiences, you don't put an entire gender into the "emotionless caveman" box. The way people act is not defined by gender. It's defined by the experiences they've had in their life. I've known some pretty fucked up women, but I understand that that's their personal issue, not an issue with their entire gender. That would just be bigotry.

 

my dad and his ex girlfriend used to get into arguements all the time. it was always her that hit him with a closed fist. the most he ever did to her was yell at her and shove her after she had shoved him. unfortunately for us men, we have a stigma attached to us. none of us want to be seen as a woman beater, but in the case of women being the abusers. if a womanm beats up a man he's seen as a wimp. some chicks happen to be very tough. neither should hit on the other, that's how it should be. period

 

thats why I said along the lines of generally. I have some very insightful male friends who understand all of my deep isssues, and FEELINGS, oooohhhh, but they're all so much older. My fiance isnt one of them, but I love him all the same. He has the typical guy, can't talk about deep personal shit thing, going on, but thats why I probably come on here and express myself so much

So It's not because your birthright is less in this instance than as a woman. It's more of the way society teaches men to behave, which is unfortunate, b/c in this day and age women are starting to look for more.

When i was in an abusive relationship i got controlled taken advantage of etc.
Finally after everything was said and done , ( he was a drug abuser) which i didn't know.
But I went to go to see my step family , and he flipped out on me and threw me to the ground picked me up by my coat shook me and dragged me 8 houses till i was in the house. I wouldn't listen to his BS so he smacked my head against the cement.

Well finally i had the bals to punch him in the face. Cops said IF i charged him i would go to jail as well as he would. So i didn't charge him. WHY the hell should i have to go through all that abuse just to defend myself just to be put in the friggin slammer .. You tell me?
