All religion is a lie to keep us from the "god" that is within us all. Creation exists through each and every one of us.... through every insect, tree, blade of grass, animal etc. We are all accumulators of information and we represent the microcosm of the macrocosm. We are all units of creation. The purpose of life is to experience and learn and overcome our egos. That is the truth. Every living thing is connected. There is no reason we are here other than to learn and undergo a unique experience as a physical (ie. mortal, yet immortal) being. Life is not about pleasure, having lots of friends, or having a great job. It is about overcoming these things and being at peace with our true selves.
You sure it’s not about survival and procreation? I think it might be about survival and procreation. I dig the new Pressed Rat Jedi Master thing you got going on. Pretty cool.
Shouldn't Be Doing That At Your Age......Could Lead To All Sorts Of Serious Medical And Mental Health Issues...... Cheers Glen.
I don’t think there is a purpose other than the continuation of life. I hope you’re right though. My view seems rather dim and pointless.
Look at pressed rat being all self actualized I dont really think life has a purpose, I think we create the purpose. Sounds like you've created yours though
My perspective is in between PR's and McFuddy's. It really seems the goal of a life is to experience it. In what way or what's useful seems not fixed. So to say it's not about pleasure or friends... that is a subjective conclusion. The goal of life in general is to procreate and let it go on. I agree. Evidently I would almost say. More and more people don't wanna procreate. Does that make their lifes pointless? Maybe in the eyes of the OP if they're also not busy 'overcoming' certain stuff and being at peace. The thing is that's just one perspective. It depends on the person themselves wether they think or experience it as pointless. I for one don't wanna procreate and care about friends, pleasure, nature, some 'trivial' entertainment These aspects make my life valuable. If I would have to do it with being/becoming at peace with myself and overcoming stuff I might judge it as pointless after all. OP apparently finds the opposite. Conclusion: life on itself is pointless and pretty worthless in an objective general sense. We, the individuals living it give it worth (or not), and make it not pointless. What makes it worthwile obviously depends per person. People who think in earnest they can determine the worth and how valuable every other persons life is lived seem disturbed to me. They can't. Only from their own perspective at best, which evidently makes it a subjective opinion, not 'the truth'.
I can embrace all life and it's creative expression manifest and connectivity, at least until the next trail of ants is marching across the kitchen counter or a woman needs me to kill a spider.
that much is almost entirely and exactly true. although; try to remember that christianity, or even christianity, islam and judaism togher, are NOT "all religion". the existence of god or gods is an option. their's. not ours. and owes nothing to what anyone tells each other. it IS much more likely that wishing to be feared is something a human would be more likely to pull out of their own ass, then the will of any god though. there is a universal wonder of strangeness, and nothing inherently harmful to celebrate and enjoy celebrating that there is. as for morality, logic, consideration, honesty and (believe it or not) imagination, are the real deal. that begins and ends with the avoidance of causing suffering and harm, and that of course, simply cannot be counted upon doing without logic. and the imagination to create and explore are what joy in life depends on. as for our own awareness beyond this life, there are infinite possibilities, which may have little to do with our choosing, beyond how we choose to make ourselves, our priorities and perspectives. there are no guarantees of anything, but ok, so there aren't, there is still the kind of influences we choose exemplify and exert, whatever may or may not become of our doing so. as for invisible friends, nothing impossible, imagine them how you choose. i just prefer mine to have no wish to be feared.
Life only has a purpose if it's useful in some way. It could be that we were created in order to test something, and life's purpose is deeper than we can understand. But life is also useful to us as a means of experiencing reality.
Negativity about the capabilities of my fellow humans isnt the same thing as me being miserable. Doesnt mean im even negative if I am just reporting reality Its the rest of you that are still caught in a haze of hope Well except Tyrsonwood, he has achieved true enlightenment, with the realization there is only one noble truth; Everything out of Everyones fuckin mouths is a load of shit......*bang of a drum, *monks chanting ...uhmmmmm...uhmmmm
Suppose to get up 5am to go to work. Woke up early because I was having a sex dream about the hot guy at the local bakery, some kind of spanish I think he is. But then Tony Abbott was in it for some reason, Im serious, me and the Spanish guy are about to get it on, but then Tony Abbott keeps walking into the shop, with like a dozen reporters behind him and he kept ordering luke 200 cakes to keep the spanish guy busy. Another reason to hate Tony Abbott
