can anybody tell me how I can size that photo down so that I can get it into my gallery??

Ive tried adding 11899309 photos and only got about 5 of them to work because most of them were "too big"

    I'm sorry, I'm really computer illiterate :p

what are you using to resize them? Most times theres something on the drop down menus. I use a freewre program called Irfanview. Very easy to use for small tweaks to photos, resize, crop, brightness/contrast...

There should be a "resize image" option on your program somewhere... you just gotta find it!

And then, just make the whatever pixel size smaller :)

i need something that has a drag box because I'm not too keen on pixels whenever I try to fuck around with pixels it comes out looking like it was a photo taken of a funhouse mirror.

Sweety...if you dl this, its very very easy to use. Quite well thought of freeware program and resize it right on the dropdown menu. Quite often too, if you recrop it just a lil bit, it cuts the pixels down to a downloadable size. Also very easy to do with this program!

okay thank you!! I WILL download that later, right now I'm on the computer at work though so it will have to wait a bit

And, Penny I'm so computer illiterate that I never used an actual program to resize, I tried doing it through paint...which let me tell you, does not work well. Not just that, but when it does size right, it tends to get pixelated when you shrink it :-/

    Hello!

I use this great freeware program called "Mihov Image Resizer", it's great as you can resize several pics at a time.

    http://www.imageresizer.com/download.php

    You can download it from

    http://www.imageresizer.com/download.php

Enjoy! I hope to see new pics of you in your gallery soon

    Regards

    DG

A good size for pictures on the www is 640x480. On most resizing software you just have to choose the biggest size (in the example, 640) and click on a box that says something like "keep proportion" or something in the like.

Another easy to use software to resize pics is

    http://www.xemico.com/photogadget/

But the quality of the result is not as good as with Mihov Image Resizer. I am not promoting Mihov, just in case, it's just that from the several softwares I've tried that's the one that gives the best results and it's freeware.

Just in case you want to re-name your pics after being resized (or, for example, to give a more logical name to the pics after downloading them from the digital camera instead of the weird names and numbers most cameras put) try File Renamer by Jose Falcao

    http://www.webxpace.net/software/software.html#FileRenamer

Hope you all find this useful

    Regards

    DG

LOL! Why go thru alla that stuff. All you have to do is hit save and rename or save as and rename....

Sure, that's the easiest way!!! well, when you have one, two or maybe 5 files... but if you have downloaded 30, 50 or 100 pics with names that begin with something like "DSC100K001" or something in the like, I mean, a name that says nothing about the pic, the batch-renaming sofware is, by far, more useful.

For example, I use to put a correlative number on my pics and, then, add, at the very beginning of the name, the date I took the pic.

Anyway, I was just trying to help.

    Regards

    DG

Thanks for the compliment :) I love scarves...I think I could be a collector!

I have a really cute pic of Ruby with my other tie dye one on her head but I won't add baby pics to a risky thread and ruin the fun lol :)
