Yeah, thats true. I've heard of the India thing and the books that were written by women. But thats exactly the problem. We don't know nothing about that guy out of the things medival priests want us to know.

Jesus seems to be someone who provocated other people. I for one think that the movie with harvey keitel (wasn't it "passion") shows jesus how he could be in real life.

I think of Jesus as he was in the movie Jesus Christ Superstar, of course without the singing. He was a really loose, kind and hippie-like man there, smiling and acting like a real human being.

Sorry, I shoulda been more clear: I hate Christianity :p
I have nothing agaisnt religons except for Christianity and Islam, I hate them. I don;t hate many things, but Christianity and Islam are two of the things I hate most. I think a big reason for this is because for the first 10 years of my life, I lived in a "Christian" household that preached god, then for the next 4 and a half years I lived with Muslims. And Now I'm back with the "Christians". But, I do believe that these are the two most hateful and pointless religions ever. I don't know if Buddhists pray to the Buddha or not, but he's someone worth praying for, and he actually EXISTED. Ya cant say the same for Jesus. Muhammad existed it looks like, but I think he was on some kind of psychedelic drug when he seen "god".:p
Sorry if I offended ya, now go listen to the Beatles! :H

Chuck, how can you say The Buddha EXISTED yet you cannot have beleife about The Christ?
There is just as little evidence saying he actually exisisted.

I think that the Buddha actually wrote books, which he was the author of. I used to know a lot more, as I was very into Buddhism(but never a Buddhist) a few years ago. I'm sure Kate, wherever she is, could correct me if I'm wrong, and give more proof of his existance. I used to know a lot about him, but not anymore. Oh well.

You're right, The Buddha did have writtings, but is there any proof he wrote it?
I mean, people used pen-names, even then.

Soulrebel51, seems you have some unresolved issues in your mind. You should resolve them.

I know you were not being negative towards Buddhism, but I said I don't like it when people are discriminatory against ANY religion. And that goes for anyone: I don't like it when Christians preach that atheists are wrong (my father's an atheist), I don't like it when Muslims preach that Jews are wrong, and likewise, I don't like it when atheists claim that religious people are "wrong". I don't care if you disagree with Christianity, that's no reason to be so hateful. Like I said, if you were truly secure in your beliefs, you wouldn't feel the need to be so immature in regards to another person's beliefs. It's called karma: The more you go around hating Christians, the more Christians will pop up in your life to convert you. You get what you give.

Now, as for Buddhism...The Buddha, in reality, did NOT write anything down:

As for the praying thing, some Buddhists do pray to the Buddha, but there are thousands and thousands of sects, and in my sect we do not pray to anything outside of ourselves. In fact, since it was started in Japan around 1222, we're rather far from traditional Buddhism in some senses.

If this makes you stop believing that the Buddha existed, then fine--it's no shirt off my back. But stop wasting your energy hating something you have no control over. If a stranger tries to convert you, simply say, "I don't like to talk about religion with people I don't know very well." If they persist, or if it is someone you actually know fairly well, just say you don't want to debate about it and change the subject. It's not difficult. I for one love talking about religion with open-minded people. But since it's usually quite easy to tell who's open-minded and who's not, just don't discuss the subject with the bigots.

These Life Lessons were brought to you by:

    Kate

Kate, you said that all very well.
That right there is making me respect you a lot more.
And all this time, I thought you were really hateful.

Since you seem to be able to read my mind, would you care to tell me what these are?

I can't read your mind, but I see the symptoms. A thought about certain things trigger negative emotions in you. You use the word hate too often. I don't know what is going on in your mind, but these are the sings that you are not peacefull inside.

I am peaceful inside, I just hate Christianity. What's not to hate about it? Christianity is destroying our country; if you don't believe me, look at George W Bush, a man with "good Christian morals."

Sounds to me like you don't like certain people that call themselfs christians, not the theory of christianity itself. But still, hate is an unresolved feeling. It is a problem that wants itself to be solved. Hate is a temorary feeling, it either leads to destruction or to resolvement. People hate because they don't understand something or are afraid of something. Lack of understanding is something that requires to be resolved, and fear is allso something that needs to be resolved. Either way hate is not something you can be at peace with. It is negative.

When you don't agree with something, you can't hate it because of the differences.
You can just dissagree, and that's all. And if you have better solutions that would benefit people, you can push your own ideas, but like It sais in your signiture
    hate=war

Hate=war, and if I got the chance to fight on the front lines, shooting at the pope and the vatican, I would......

I don't hate certain Christians, it is the entire whatever Christianity is, everything about it. The only good thing I can think of Christianity is how it preaches forgiveness, but how many Christians practice this? It is mostly Christians who support the death penalty.

Hey now, let's all get along.

...and listen to the Beatles. That's a good idea, I shall go do that. :)

I don't like to bother with religion too much. People believe what they believe, and I believe what I do, I just like to leave it at that and talk about something more fun. :)
