I know what your saying, and I don't think that caring about your outward appearance is shallow. I mean, everyone pretty much, dresses a certain way for one reason or another, if not just to identify with others who have the same kinda mindset that they do. Either way, try some thrift shops, your relatives clothes, some hip stores ( Indo Crafts online is pretty good...google it). Any bands you like? Band shirts and jeans with loose hair and hemp jewelry is kinda a "hip" look. I don't want to give you too many ideas of my own though. . .I want you to explore yourself and be who you are. Wear what YOU want! Chances are you'll look hip anyway, since it's in your heart. Peace and Love!

aww it made me so happy to see no one tore this guy to shreds. i was afraid for a second...

peace. love. enjoying the moment (peace)

another point thats rather hard to remember sometimes, never look down on anyone.facist, suicide bomber, bush supporter, skinhead, emo, prostitute, hobo, black, white, pakistani, indian. they're different and you can't expect tolerance from anyone unless you can tolerate yourself (hey, 2 meanings there).

work with the nature of things rather than trying to alter them into your own way of thought. it makes things easier for everyone.

i dont know if that makes you a hippie, but i think they're good rules for life.
