What kind of activities could I engage in to meet other hippies locally? Anyone have any ideas? I'm not sure which category to post this in, by the way.
If you can't find one, be one. Like-minded folk tend to coalesce. Be the very best version of your true, authentic self, and you won't have to look far.

This stuff makes me laugh (or shake my head in consternation). The universe here has an extraordinarily parochial view on the stereotypes of hippies. I wear shoes, have short hair (for now), shower daily, wear deodorant, use a microwave, add canned or frozen food to whatever it is I prepare to eat, and have no problems with eating things that were not grown organically or hydroponically. What you seem to seek is someone who applies the same labels to him-/her-/them-/itself that you would like applied to yourself. If you're looking for someone who wants to do good deeds for mankind, doesn't spend the whole day consumed with body image or self-worth shame, attend a Unitarian-Universalist church service, go and volunteer at a food kitchen, get a broom out and sweep a county street, volunteer at a hospital, donate blood, teach a child to read or help a student with math. The list goes on and on...
Yeah, I hear you. It's not about liking certain music or wearing certain clothes or taking certain drugs (though the latter can be quite fun in moderation!). It's a mindset of kindness toward yourself and others, among other things. It's mostly things that are not easily seen. And that shit's difficult to do sometimes! But if you're dedicated you keep on it.
