Personally, I dont like anything on mainstream radio. Just like TV, it serves the same purpose and agenda.

lol We're going to have to start a William Shatner thread.

The difference is Bill is laughing at himself in these, I think Hasselhoff was serious!

I think hippies would like Cunninlynguists.

    Canada, the final frontier...

It's just electronica, with a psychedelic edge. A predictable next step.

Dubstep's popularity largely corresponded to the rise of popularity of ketamine and mephedrone hitting the scene in the UK. It was hardly 'more psychedelic', it was geared toward a disassociative 'wonkyness' and a grittier edge than most EDM.

Psytrance which is far more psychedelic oriented (obviously there can be some subjectivity, although the name kind of speaks for itself) was actually one of the primary genres that started getting played less in the US due to the rise of popularity of dubstep. Most mainstream dubstep is not psychedelic oriented at all.

The new CunninLynguists album that is part of the group's 'Strange Journey' series is out. I love the vocal and guitar samples in this song below. To me this is the type of hip hop that even people who hate hip hop will enjoy. The lyrics are more conscious than most modern hip hop (though perhaps not on this song), but for me it's the production of Kno that really makes this music great. He's definitely one of the best producers in hip hop's entire history.

It's definitely well-produced, but to me the rap part isn't anything special. Sounds like 13 a dozen.

No, their lyrics aren't the best, but I don't really pay much attention to lyrics in hip hop music.

I didn't mean the lyrics, but the general flow.

Edit: I have to admit, listening again it does kinda grow on me a bit.

I think people can give up hip hop and rap now for real music. I have been hearing that the private prisons got filled up? Over filled actually ~ so yeah, unless they're filling the camps now too?
    Ahahaha!

You can't say that - there's loads of people with bad taste in noise pollution!
Are you trying to claim that foolishness is the property of one identified race?!?
    Why...why...how could you?!?

So let's do a thought experiment. After listening halfway through that G Dep feat video and half of the Cunninlynguists one (which in my ignorance I thought was a joke), I wondered how they would have gone over at Woodstock.

Just omit any Woodstock artist, say Richie Havens, or Ravi Shankar, maybe The Band, or how about Sha Na Na, any one......and substitute any Rap or Hip Hop assemblage.

    It just doesn't work.
    ...and I rest my case.

I like trap music but thats a little too soft for me pressed rat, not bad though, its got a catchy tune.

Im at in inbetween stage, hippy and ghetto. I could go out right now and you'd be like o he listens to Bob Marley, then 5 minutes later have something else on and you'd be like o he listens to Yo Gotti and he probably has 4 baby mamas.
