Hip Forums Age Limit?

Those laws keep 30 year olds from dating 12 year olds.

Excuse me here but this is "The Hippy Forums" right? Just how old do you think the original batch of Hippies from the 1960's are now, huh Max? You should just be happy you are not restricted to a seperate forum yourself, one for teenage boys.

What exactly is the difficulty here Max? You make ambiguous assertions about Old Hippies, but I still don't understand why you want them restricted. What are you afraid they are going to do or say on this Forum?

And the answer is NO, I am not 60, don't even think it.

 

First off, I always thought of the Hip Forums as Hip, not Hippy, even though there are a lot of hippies on here ( 20-40 year olds ) I have yet to see a 60 year old member.

Second, I would actually like a section for people 16-30, I would like that very much, cause this is like one of the few forums with normal sex discussions, however I don't want to discuss sex with any 60 year olds, is that wrong? Is it? Do you like yo ask your grandfather how to perform anal sex on a woman? Do you?

Well take a look beyond the Love and Sex forums, a lot of the forums and sub-forums specificly use some form of the term "Hippy".

And actually I have seen members over 60 here, and plenty that will turn 60 over the next few years.

There is no age discrimination for any forum on the HIP Forums that I am aware of. I agree that this is one of the few places for people to discuss real life sex issues in an open forum.

It makes me more uncomfortable that there are under age teens in some of these forums. It is a cool place for teenagers to get information, but I never answer a direct sexual question to anyone that I know is under 18. That just kinda creeps me out, but I don't want those people banned or restricted, I just don't give 16 year olds anal sex advice, or anything similar. MY (and your) choice.

It's neither right or wrong. You do not have to discuss anything with anyone you don't want to on this group of forums. For me it's the children, for you it's seniors.

If there were no ages on the postings none of us would know what age most of the posters would be. You might never know that you got the best anal sex advice of your life from a Grandpa or Grandma.

There are many young people here who don't feel comfortable asking their own parents these questions, so they ask here. You don't have to ask anybody anything you don't feel comfortable with. If you feel funny asking a senior a question that is your right, but everyone above 13 has access to all of the forums, that's their right.

Seniors have more real life sex expierience than many people here. If THEY were up-tight about sexual discussions they would not utilize those forums, just like some of the members here now. Everybody does not go to the sexualy explicit forums now.

Well-said, Mister Casey! Older folks have just as much right and relevance as younger folks do (if not more - I, for one, was taught to respect my elders!)

I remember when I was around 13 and I had my first "oh wow" realization that my grandparents were regular people, with all the same problems and issues as everyone else. I'd gone out for ice cream with them during a visit and as I passes my gm's across to her, my gp ate the cherry off the top. I said "Grandma, Grandpa took your cherry!" And she smiled at me and said, "I know - he ate my ice cream topping too!"

I was red in the face for about an hour, but it was probably one of those moments in life when I was forced into looking at people from another perspective than just however they relate to me in my own little world, and it helped me to look past all that. Sorry for going on, that just came to mind....

No age limit. I think no one should be descriminated against-it goes against the whole concept of this forum in my mind. Hip forums is about respect and love. If we can't respect the young and old in a forum, how are we supposed to do so in society?
Honestly I can say i don't know any thing about immature young people. If I am one of them, just speak up! :drummer:

Everyone has potential for understanding, regardless of age, and while everyone should be allowed to make their own paths, discriminating due to age cuts younger audiences off from one more information source, and wouldn't most of us here be happier to see people growing up with understanding for their environment, than becoming one of those destroying it?

I say that if they are old enough to know the risks of coming into any forum or chat room, let them in. As long as they dont bother none Im happy.

For your own legal protection, I think you ought to set the limit at 16 (given the range of mature subjects discussed rather bluntly here). At the same time, enforcement doesn't have to be strict. However, it mitigates any potential litigious situations.
