http://www.himalasalt.com I've been doing the himalayan pink salt cleanse and adding it to my food. I find that it helps my absorption issues that I have as I suffer from leaky gut and have food sensitivities. There are a great number of health benefits from this amazing mineral. Has anyone else been using this?
I use it everyday. People think salt is bad, but that's because the only salt most people are aware of even existing is table salt, which IS bad. The fact is, your body needs salt, and it needs a fairly good amount of it. That is how you maintain a healthy thyroid -- not by eating chemically processed salt that's nutritionally-deficient with added iodine. Too much of that WILL make you sick over time. Also, if you have leaky gut, it would be best to eliminate all gluten from your diet. Eating grains is one of the biggest culprits of leaky gut syndrome.
What in the world is "leaky gut"? Is that a real issue, an umbrella term, or slang for some other disorder?
http://www.webmd.com/digestive-disorders/features/leaky-gut-syndrome It basically is an absorption issue in the intestinal tract. I have a big problem absorbing iron and vitamins in particular Vitamin B12 and have had anemia all my life. It's caused by other things like excessive candida (so the elimination of gluten might help) but also dairy is a huge problem for me so i dont eat it. I'm trying different things to see if anything helps. So far the pink salt helps a lot.
