I believe the original statement I was responding to was about Hillary letting people into the U. S. who are sworn to kill gays (basically).

 

The left used to pander to gays. Now it panders to Islam. You can't have both.

 

Sure you can have both. It just means the American gays will have to bend over for the Islamic-"Americans" in every way. Surely most of it will be homosexual in nature, I mean, they're "just like everyone else". Right?

The left has turned into the weirdest collection of contradictions, Islam being the weirdest since it's like antimatter to the rest of their "causes". Maybe it really has been just a commie power play all along.

 

I think we do all have more to worry about with China and its version of communism than Islam. China is far too big for its boots, way too influential.

Sure with Islamic extremists you get the odd terrorist attack, but China has been messing with the economics of the entire world

The economy is a paper construct, so I only give a crapola about it when it hits me in the wallet, which the ACA has done in amazing ways. My taxes have doubled and my insurance deductible is $7,000US. So, I pay enough to feed 5 to 7 families each year and I'm expected to have about $10,000 US just sitting around ready for use if I get sick.

The economy of the US is a house of cards. The crash will be horrible, IF it ever comes. Houdini would be proud of the smoke and mirrors we Americans have to endure (like our bullshit unemployment numbers, a tradition BOTH parties do). Then of course there's the drug war, another farce with bipartisan support that extracts money from the population and pays lawyers and jailers with it.

I'd fear China if they didn't make so many weird, boneheaded things (like those empty cities, including places in Africa). However, they do wonderful things as well. I have an uncle who went there for stem cell therapy we can't get in the US. Cost him a fortune, but he's still alive. The Chinese steal shit too. I knew 2 companies that suffered it. I was working for one of them that made digital fuel pumps that were used in gas stations, transfer stations and aerial refueling.

We had such a regular business that peaks in sales were rare. The sales crew fought to maintain and none of us felt sorry for them. But I'll never forget the "high-5-a-thon" when they landed a sale for essentially 3 of everything we made. To a Chinese company. The knock-offs hit the market for below half of our deepest discount price (which is what the Chinese paid).

The other occasion involved a theme park in China. A colleague was repairing a generator and they gave him a tour which he caught on video. It was amazing to see attractions from DisneyLand, Silver Dollar City, Marriott's Great America, Six Flags and Busch Gardens all mashed together into a "western style" theme park. And of course, it was all stolen. Some of the shit that was supposed to move was stationary because they worked from still shots.

However, I do see the Chinese having a serious impact on the Pacific rim overall. Good luck with that!
