Ok Im in ontario now for the ottawa blues fest. i was wondering if anyones going to ottawa from around barrie. and if not is there anyone going anywhere afterwards? me and my travel companion would love to come along and do what we can to help out and what not. i hope to hear back Peace and Love

Hey guys, I have a question that I hope won't insult anybody or sound too dumb. In Ireland, and even the U.S. and Canada, there are folks called Travellers (sometimes tinkers) who live the gypsy lifestyle but aren't gypsies. They call themselves Parvees and have been on the road for quite awhile. They speak their own dialect called Shelta. What they're doing sounds a lot like what you're doing. So I was wondering: has there been any interaction or mutual influence between the two of you. Did you ever hear of those guys?

 

Yeah of course I know the traveller community, they live by their own rules and if you disrespect or anger one of them its th same as fucking over the whole family. Theyre a closed community and dont like outsiders interfering with them. Friendly if you grew up with them but dont expect to just go onto their sites and be welcomed.

If you're ever around SW Ontario(Brantford- 45 mins SW of toronto) Me and my buddy are looking for something new, most of our friends and devoted colleagues are going to spend the next 20-30 years bouncing in and out of the regions finer institutions, and to escape the same fate for good, We're either going West or East. He wants to go West and I East, We've been looking for people to join us but in 2010 North America most people are only serious 'til the realization of 'money and actually fucking doing something' come about.

If we we're to ever meet and click as a group, neither one of us could feel pissed off about the E-W dispute, and we'd be great members of this group, I'm a bricklayer and he does carpentry so the work aspect of this would be a pleasant transition for both of us, and if we ever fall upon hard times we're both quite successful in hitting the streets and supplementing our income, at least enough to make sure nobody gets stranded anywhere.

So if you guys are ever in the area and wanna meet up and take a load off, get high and drunk and see if we got what it takes, i'll start dropping pills into the bottles now, i mean, my bags are packed...

he took off while traveling with some of the tribe to niagra falls last sat, no ones heard from him. I wasnt there just heard he took off to go busk with some dude he met and then never met back up with the rest of the kids.... too bad I liked him!

O ok ya he's pretty spontanios. Sorry about him ditching the tribe man. Next time I'm travelling in Canada I'll join the crew and maybe bring some dedicated peeps inboard. So enjoy your summer!

Hey can you explain to me exactly what it is you do? I live in Ontario, canada and I am looking for a new alternative way of living. I would love to hear more about this

 

travel together, as a tribe, live survive on the road. we have an established set of guidleines that have evolved over 10 years of trial and error.
buses dont usually stay in ontario long. I build the buses and organise crews on buses and teach them the highway child life, get them ready to travel and when I think there ready I send em off.

the tribe now is a coalition of many buses some with crews others families and others just lone travelers.

sorta a caa for hobos...lol

we have built quite a large network with kids in pretty much every magor center and travel hubs.

once kids have been part of tribe for 3 months there able to get a tribe tat on there calf. which serves as a bus pass allowing them on other tribe buses. thats not manditory of course, its just an option.

we live comunally cash wise food wise, we vote in councils and usually hold a few cousils every day just to make sure everyones ok.

right now Im qworking on the pirate ship,. a big black angry looking bus thats suited for more gutter punk then hippy...

tribes been bugging mne for years to make a pirate ship....
different buses sometimes have different themes,
