so josh zack and dave are here, things are moving along well, seems as if these kids are happy sitting here for a minute out in the country,

were getting alot of the finishing shit finished, Im really impressed with how this is going, we dont really have a date now as of when its launching....figure we will miss it if we make one...though a few days maybe a week, unless we do the wvo conversion....were stiull waiting on jason .

I've just sat and read all 425 posts, again for most of it.

I really wish I would have been paying attention last time I read it, I could have helped on some of the problems you've been having.

There seems to be a lot of people offering to help, and then failing to do so, I can so understand that. People suck...

We have a tri-plex in Kirkland Lake, as it is right now, we have one empty 2 br apartment that is being advertised, a 2br that is being worked on, and the 2 br we are in. There is also a full basement that is pretty much empty. The rent on the advertised place is $400 plus utilities. If I was in the position to do so I would say it could be had for free as long as we own the building (see below), I can't though, but I can drop it to 300... If people wanted to help with the work on the other apartment and stay there while doing it, I would definately trade the work for it. The basement is up for grabs if it can help in some way towards thc.

The reason I said, as long as we own it, is because it is being listed on the market as of next week. It could sell right away, it could be a couple of months. When the deal on it closes, another deal we have closes as well, for the purchase of 160 acres about 20 miles outside of New Liskeard. At that time, we were going to be buying a used bus to move our stuff, as well as a camper trailer (rv, mobilehome, etc) and starting to build http://lost-acres.com. That's our call... It's been a very long time coming. There is also a thread here somewhere that I started about it, but that has nothing to do with this post... lol

From the sounds of it, you may have access to some extra buses, All we need one for is the move and as storage when we get there. Instead of us buying a bus (2500.00) from someone else, if we could get a body from the tribe and the help to move, that money could be donated to you.

Beyond that, once we have the room clear on the property, the tribe will always have a place to come and recharge.

I've been reading these threads for a long time about thc, even think I may have emailed blinkin, but that could just be herb induced memories... lol In the past, I was sorta hesitant about making an open offer like that, especially in here. Today was different though, partly due to boredom of sitting in the chat room while nobody else can apparently log in... lol

It was also partly (more like mostly) due to something that went on in the thread. You know how they say there is always a silver lining? Well here's one for the whole drama situation you went through with someone else.

It showed me that my fears of the type of people we are going to attract on occasion are well founded. It also showed me that my lack of faith that there are people that who also feel the same way towards those was unfounded.

Although we can't offer much in the way of hospitality on the property itself at the start, here is what we can.

Place to park, (possibly after clearing an area for it)...
Water
Blueberries in almost unlimited quantities (as you pick them)
Possibly a very very limited amount of power
Proximity to a very talented backyard mechanic with access to a large amount of scrap. (no thats not me)

On the matter of traveling through canada during the winter... You're nuts... Yes, you can do it, and possibly even survive, but it is not even close to being a sane idea, especially if you plan on heading towards the yukon in the fall. Be that as it may, if you try it, I'm sure you'll be fine... lol

However, you may want to consider another alternative, such as parking for the winters. That in no way means disbanding the tribe or rejoining babylon for the winter. Instead, the same idea we are using to make sure we have a happy winter would work for thc. We are building a straw bale building around our trailer, with a wood stove in the building to keep it non-cold, and the heating system in the trailer to keep it warm. That also gives an area outside the trailer (or bus) to do things during the winter. The south end of the building is basically a doubled plastic wall to let in sun and heat for the winter. We will be setting up wind generators for our own power, and more as we can.

So, my thought was, if the tribe wanted to help us do the move, and stuck around long enough to get the shelter for our trailer, and an extra one for thc. During the worst of the winter (Jan-Mar, or so), you would have a place to hole up. As well as having a cash infusion for your travels.

we did a mini one last night on my land, pile was 20 ft tall before we lit er up witha man built outa wood on the top we have some fire pics we;ll get up soon in the galleries.....dialup is killing me.

this bus interior is killer, weve started painting crazy murals in any spot thats not panelled, the dash is covered in flowers the rear windows are painted so the light shines threw the colours...

weve got 500 meteres of power cord were buildinga spool on the rear so we can plug in 500 meters away, or even run or generator but keep the unit far enough away that the noise doesnt bother us.

the bathroom is done and they are tiling it as I write.

sounds brilliant! mines going slowly but surely. theres tons of things i need, im trying to locate a donor RV that doesnt cost... well anything lol. im still searching for a little woodstove too. ive got my bed (fold down bench seat) in, about half of the inside painted, kitchen counter and desk framed, kitchen cabinets almost done. and thats it.
still to come is the woodstove and hearth, a bench/window seat/bed, a little closet, back cabinets, and like 10 million other things that i keep loosing track of lol.
im itching to paint the outside.
finally got all the paperwork and got it insured last week, drove it yesterday around town for the first time and put half a tank of gas in ($50 )
i just sold my bronco so i have a bit of money to work with, i think i will buy paint today or tomorrow for the outside. im thinking a base of light blue and then paint random shit all over.
i dont know when she will be ready for a trip. mechanical shit is still a bit of a mystery and i realized yesterday that the brake lights dont work. gonna try to figure that one out today.

hmmm gotta think about this. ive pretty much resigned myself to staying at this job till the first of september, that way i can get EI cause its the end of the season. but... this job is about to get way crappier at the end of june and my awesome boss is quitting. ive almost quit so many times lol. i really just want to leave. ah well, illl get back to ya.

Im dealing with an injector OR injector pump problem right now, and I still have to put togther a new set of rear brake lines....

yeah that ei thing could be handy...winters are rough to make money you can do it but its hard.....then again touring in the summer is the shit!!!

we just took the bus out to bellville and back to work the bugs out, alternator problems already luckily diesels dont need a battery to keep running, so we made it back ok...even without lights.


Im very impressed with this group of kids, Im sure they will be fine. their mapping their route now and leaving in the morning. headed first to toronto then north up the 400 to the trans canada and then heading w to vancouver island area wioth stops in the okangagan and the sunshine coast.

as for where i will be... well im in gibsons, sunshine coast now. im still trying to decide what to do at the end of the month. i might take the bus to 100 mile (bc) for july and august to work at another Y camp and make extra cash. otherwise, i will be here in gibsons and ready to hit the road!
