Here's a scenario for you. You drop out in your final year because you think high school doesn't mean much in the real world, you know lots of people who never graduated. So you leave and get a job delivering pizzas. One night while delivering pizzas it starts to rain and while trying to make it to the customers place on time you accidently ram into the back of a jeep. You can't afford to repair the front end of your car because you're a pizza delivery guy, you get fired from your job because you can no longer deliver and your girlfriend dumps you because not only can you no longer drive the 35 minutes to her house out of town, but you also have no money and no job.

Might as well just hang in there for a few months.

Remember aside from the obvious in terms of being able to get a job, namely the diploma, part of high school is also just showing you can finish it. Everyone knows a lot of high school is mindless tedious work, but that's all of life. If you can't finish what is essentially the easiest thing you'll do in your life it doesn't look good on resumes.

College and university is the same thing. I know a few people who have graduated with a BA or masters and althought they aren't working in the field they studied, they have well paying jobs because they've shown that they can stick with something for years. Dedication is everything to an employer.

I also know a guy who has a BA and he lives on peoples couches because he's unwilling to work full time or do anything he doesn't like.

If you don't have a high school diploma in this day and age you are pretty much fucked.
You are fucked even if you do have one.
    You are just fucked.

I will be the first one to admit, I did not graduate from high school adn finding jobs is super hard, no one wants to hire someone,t hat bailed on high school. I didnt finish my senior year and I pay it for it every year. I am getting my diploma online soon, but even that costs money that I dont have, bc I can not get a job. If I wasnt married I would be in the hole, and before I met my husband I was in the hole, on welfare, barely getting by, struggling to feed my daughter. and now I am going to school online for free, bc of scholarship, but it doesnt cover the schools that offer diplomas, so I have to go back next semester on my own money. It is very hard, once you drop out. I am 24 years old, and I can not find jobs. I am making sure by the time my kids are older, I have a degree and my diploma, so they dont think that dropping out is a good thing, and I will let them know the truth and how hard it really was for me. Being homeless bc you can not find a job bc you dropped out happened to me in 2005. it sucked majorly. so please dont do it people. It really isnt worht it, especially if you only have one year left. just do it, it is very important. to get that job, so you can at least feed yourself.

School is a joke for many reasons, just as college is. The fact that the education systems teaches you want to think and not how to think is absurd. Memorizing all these facts year after year only to find out that when i graduated it was all useless.

I've learned more on the internet than the years of my schooling i went through.

I've heard people say teenage girls want older men because they mature and develop fast during those years. I find that a load of crock shit. Another is women even in there 30's and 40's seem to want older men. I believe it still is the whole "protection" or "confident" part. Which also a bunch of bullshit. Has a women not seen a man her age beat the shit out of someone older than him? Some people know how to rumble without the giant arms and shoulders.

Take it from everyone here: FINISH SCHOOl.

Listen, you've already put in eleven years. If you drop out now, you're throwing all of that time out the window. What else do you have to do in the half of a year that you'll gain by dropping out? I'm going to go out on a limb and say that it's probably nothing that can't wait until you graduate. Because trust me, once you graduate, you have wayyyyy too much time on your hands before you head off to college or start working or anything.

It's worth the effort. I understand that it sucks. Just keep to yourself, and bring a book to school to get you through the really bad classes. You won't regret it.

I hated highschool too. That's why I only hung out with a few people, and no one else. Few acquaintances here and there, but 3 main friends that I stuck to chillin with. I'm anti-drama to the max. I fucking hate it. That's why I spent most of my highschool career sniffing OC/dilly/opana and isolating myself.
Everyone in school puts up a front, thinks they're the shit, etc. Where's the real people?
I thought going to college would be better, but it's not!
I mean it's community college, but still, it seems almost worse than highschool. Maybe it's just the suburb i'm in, but I don't think so. Every kid that comes and goes has to fucking burn rubber in the parking lot, roll their windows down with lil wayne blasting even when it's fucking raining.
    Like what the fuck...

1% of people who drop out of school, realize all their dreams and aspirations.

99% of people who drop out of school, ultimately regret it and wish they hadn't. Their life probably sucks.

You really think you're that lucky??

One more year of a very long life will make little difference in terms of time, but could make a massive difference in terms of potential.

    Same here!
I didn't really talk to many people throughout high school, and I had this mindset that was basically "Oh, it's no biggie. You'll meet lots of cool kids in college and then you'll be able to be friends with them for ever and ever."
And then I went to the community college. And have been going there for the last year and a half.
I was DEAD wrong. I have yet to meet a single interesting person there. Everybody is hideously unfriendly. Makes me not want to go to school ever again.

the education systems in the united states, both highschool and college seem to have a tendency to be like that.

it is what it is.. dont let it get you down.

if you're looking for real people... all you gotta do is look elsewhere ;)

Even ok without a high school diploma is basically impossible, it's just a fact of life. Hell you can't even join the military anymore without a diploma or GED
