Starring Patricia Arquette, this one season drama has great comedic moments! Mourning the death of her mother, played by Bernadette Peters, the star plays a recovering addict trying to turn her life around with one scam after another. She decides to become a private investigator and sweet talks Brad Garrett (from Everybody Loves Raymond) into hiring her. Matt Dillon plays her charming schemer ex-husband who further complicates the scene with his own wild ideas for scams. Rupert Friend plays the role of 'Guru Bob,' a disgraced former TV weatherman whose missing wife churned out masterfully created art forgeries of famous canvases. High Desert is so weirdly odd viewers may begin to suspect the series isn't worth watching. In spite of that, Patricia Arquette's amazing performance will convince you to sit back and enjoy the eight episodes, just to see what happens next!
