I used to think about this very subject when I was in HS. When boys wanted to hide porn from their mothers then, they hid it in the sock drawer. First of all your mother will be putting away your socks in there. Actually, I was thinking a better idea would be to put it under a stack of innocuous magazines, like People or Life. On your desk, say. Because who would think? They call that misdirection. Of course people under 18 are not supposed to view porn anyways. But you know, this same idea could apply to adults too.
At least one of my older siblings used porn mags so it was never going to be me who was caught with them. I discovered them, about 5 mags, and used them with neither my Mum nor that brother knowing.
I grew up in 70s and raised nudist. I thought porn was so boring! a friend brought one over mom saw us looking at it. I said it was boring she explained how the people and pictures were taken to make things seem as they are not and I agreed. Even as a adult I never cared for it.
I was brought up in a nudist family, my parents were swingers, and nothing was hidden from me. Boys at school had porn and I brought some home to keep. It was explicit and the photos were good, but it was tame by what had never been hidden from me. When my parents discovered the mags I had they didn't get mad at me. My mum even sat down and flicked through a mag to ask what I liked and told me it was normal for boys to like porn.
