Welcome from western North Carolina. My 'roommate' (her new official title by her own declaration) is psychotic. Her current delusions have made her afraid of electricity, preferring to sit in a darkened house with a flashlight and every electric device unplugged.
caregiving is very hard and sometimes dismissed by the caregivers by saying "I'm fine.". I hope you also pay attention to your own health and your needs, whatever they may be... I hope you find some distractions here on HIP. Welcome.
Welcome Erv. My mother had dementia and, not thinking she would engage mentally enough to give me answers, I didn't ask her a lot of questions. After she had passed I learned that she had PHYSICAL dementia and it didn't effect her mind at all. So regardless of your level of cognition I hope nobody makes that mistake with you. That is I hope nobody fails to engage you fully because of assumptions they make about your mental condition. I hope every day you're here somebody engages with you in a meaningful manner.
