Hi Hip forum members. I was just scouring the internet looking for feminist forums for a feminist friend of mine in the middle east and found you here. Nice to see you here in this little corner of the internet. My mum was the first feminist in my life. She would take me to feminist rallies in the 70's when I was a small child. She comes from a family of 6 girls in Ireland who grew up in a very patriarchal society so pushing back against the machine was a full time job for her which inevitably rubbed off onto me. I am an activist and I care very much about equality for everyone. I hate to see people suffering because of their happenstance of birth. Gender, race, opportunity, and formal education can often be used to oppress others and as a result I do not automatically respect other's views because with political endorsement other's views can often cause harm and pain to others. I have a facebook feminist group with close to 400 members and a feminist facebook page of the same name with nearly 4000 members. I am also a moderator on a large Australian atheist forum. VBulletin too. Thankfully driving my posts here won't need a huge brain shift. Anyway, thanks for having me here Hip. I look forward to interacting with you all out in the threads.
