Wow, I would come to turkey just for Kebab, I've always wanted to try it....Why do you think I would have the best week in my life there?...What's there to see and experience?.. Great fire pic, by the way
it will be best week of your life cuz you will taste most delicious foods or you will swim in most beautiful sea...also you will visit a lot of ancient archelogic areas. you can join blue tours or you can dancing until morning...bla bla bla . )
I would like to see Aja Sofia, story about it was always so sad to me (you know, that one about turkish taking over and turning it into mosque)....But I probably shouldn't be telling you this, you're Turkish too.....
mosques, churchs... these are really not important for me : ) and i am not grand child of ottoman...we are child of modern turkey republic!
Well, churches are not important for me neither when I look at them from religious side, but they're important part of nation's history and cultural heritage (especially architecture and painting), that's why I like visiting them...And, you're archeologist, I suppose you're into history....
yeah i am an archeologist but i have never research turkish history or islamic history and i never will do it...anatolia have millions years of history. first writing, first laws, first civilations, first big cities...all of them developed in this geography.why am i struggle with turks or rome : ))) so i research hittites and early bronze age. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hittites my dig area, alacahöyük http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alacahöyük http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Phrygia
Alright, now I don't have time to read about all of that because my bus for Montenegro is leaving in an hour but when I come back in September I'll try to learn about Hittites as much as I can...But, your history is interesting, Serbia was part of your country for 500 years!... BTW, I know 2 archeologists so far and they're mostly interested in Celts...Even though they're from Balkans... bye until september
yeah, I've also heard that archeologist anthem is Faith no more's "Digging the grave", is that true?...
my friends sometimes say me "grave robber"...but this is only a joke : ) and we cant research ottoman time because this is work of historians.i am archeolog.i can research more more old periods.stone ages or bronz age until rome empire period...after that work of historians. see you september. and hi to karadag (montenegro) : P
I'm back I see few people commenting your meat, what has this thread turned into while I was away, for the love of God???.....kidding And, yes, I understand time limits that archeologists have in their researches, but all I'm saying is that you're probably one of rare archeologists who have no interests in history....
heyyy yine ben. what s up hippy club peoples...i am fine : P i am returned from excavation and just i want to share just some new photos.
