I'm 38, from the northeast USA, and new to online forums. I recently stopped worrying so much how people see me and publicly embraced nudism, body-acceptance, and going barefoot. I like environmental tech, hiking and unintentional asmr. This always seemed like a place I wanted to be. Thanks for accepting me.
Doing good Bnevis, you? I posted right before bed. Spending free time in the woods to keep active. Haha, thanks Angelmama, I appreciate the lighthearted attitude. I haven't streaked since I was too young to get in trouble but I join any positive nude event, like the world naked bike ride, that I can. I'm also from Connecticut but spend a lot time at a nudist camp in Rhode Island. Nice to meet you too. How are you?
Nice welcome for Naturist there Angel. And that song is real good as nature intended! Welcome to the forum from Boozercruiser Nature,
Just fine. Never heard of the naked bike ride. Was there trouble going through anyplace? I am in a wheelchair now but used to ride a bike and never heard of it then either. Hey Kenny! Missed you yesterday!
Yes. Sorry about that. But at last you saw me in my Jammies! I thought there was communication though with you though?
I hope my memory isn't going quite that fast! No; I'm quite certain I didn't see you yesterday at all. So where were you if it's ok to ask?
The World Naked Bike Ride has been going in dozens of cities around the world since the mid 2000's but I only started 3 years ago. It's a mix of causes: reducing fossil fuels, urging motorists to respect the safety of non-motorists, and body-positivity. The only rides in the northeast are Boston and Montpelier and neither seem to advertise much but I've done both. Boston regularly has about 200 people on a 9 mile ride. Even though I always spare a thought that someone will get very offended and react badly, it's always really festive and good natured. Montpelier is much smaller, 10-30 people, so I feel more exposed but the public are very supportive; whole familes wave at us. In both cities there's usually a lot of cheering and a few people join along the way. I understand feeling concerned. At the last Boston ride the police broke up the unofficial after party where folks were skinny dipping on a soupy 90 degree night despite the fact that the atmosphere had been very mellow and innocent until that point. That lead to some unnecessary confrontation where they arrested someone. Other than that, the worst I've seen in either city is one fool trying to heckle us and maybe one or two judgemental faces amid the smiling crowds. Lots of onlookers do whip out their phones but no one cares too much about that.
Yeah Montpellier would be cool. I lived in Vermont for awhile--in Brattleboro, and it was full of artists, hippies, and very laid back. I lived in Massachusetts too--Turner's Falls, near Greenfield. Also Florida, and California. Most of my life has been spent in Connecticut, though, where I was born. I kinda bounced around between here and all the other 4 states.
