it takes l, like 170 bucks to get a script. Its usually a form with symptoms listed, and you tell the doc what your need for it is. The pot clubs will tell you where to go, address and docs name, and if you got the cash you are guaranteed a liscence to smoke, and in california, if you are in a posted , designated smoking section/area, its legal to smoke in public.

however, it is this ease of non diseased people to claim insomnia and get medical marijuana that will eventually cause a bACKLASH OF NON STONERS TO REPEAL THE LAWS, AND THEN(stupid caps lock) the aids and cancer patients it is actually legal for will suffer for it.

SO enjoy it while it lasts.
Remember whom will be hurt by it.

I am not anti pot, I just would rather it really be made legal, and not just a loophole to be exploited. Almost every person I grew up smoking with has a script and no medical need. I guess because I gave it up I look at it a different way, but it ISNT LEGAL FOR A SINGLE ONE OF MY FRIENDS TO SMOKE, and it would irritate me if people dealing with cancer and aids treatments get denied smoke so that these guys can buy inferior weed at inflated prices legally. Was it so hard in CA to score good smoke and stay out of jail? I think not, in fact I know not. But the people it was legalized for are not people that nessesarily have homies that smoke, been doing it for years, could score without a club. They have legitimit need for a safe place to buy.

    ok off the soapbox...
Legalize it and it wont bother me when my friends purchase it legally...
    shit that was more soapbox...

People that live where any possesion is a felony, please take my arguments with a grain of salt. CA is really lax, theres no reason to exploit the system. I dont know what its like for cops to actually bust you for a small personal stash. It a ticket, but usually you just gotta pour out the sack and step on it. They dont wanna deal with the paper work.

if you dont know anyone, humboldt is not the place for you. it isnt that friendly a place to people that arent from there, Arcata is cool, but growers..they are paranoid.

    Rangerdanger,

Our crop should be done and in by Oct 1st. Think any growers would hire aforehand 2 very experienced trimmers? We wouldn't want to just go and hang out in hopes of doing it. We'd have to know we are set up before we go.

    Whaddaya think?

    I don't fully understand your Q.
If you don't know any growers that need help, I can't think of any option except to go and hang out and hope to meet the right person.
Once you "get in", you pretty much have a steady job every fall. That grower will hire you again and if you ask will recommend you to other growers.
Like I mentioned, many grows up here are LEGAL. It's not illegal to hire someone to pick tomato's or lemons if you have more than you can pick yourself.

    ADD:
Lady Greene you know this, but for anyone else, the harvest/manicuring season out here is mid-Sept to late Oct, but some growers are partial to Sativa's and they aren't ready until mid-Nov..

You just answered my question, RD. I just wanted to know if I could search out and apply with the growers from here, on the net instead of having to go to Arcata and hope--(though I guarantee I could be found on the disc golf course behind HSU if somehow we found our way there anyway! *G*)--bummer that can't be done.

Personally, I love manicuring. It's an art. As is proper curing. I've found it interesting that some people hang their plants and let them dry before trimming and manicuring. I prefer to trim the branches and manicure buds as soon as they're harvested, arranging them in tight wind rows on window screens to begin curing. Twice a day I'll roll over and fluff the rows of buds, then pack them softly again to continue curing. Eventually, they won't want to pack so tightly and the stems will be strong and pliable, though not quite dried. The outsides will become a bit crispy, and at this point I transfer them into paper bags to draw moisture out of the center of the bud to hydrate the crispies and further dry the stem. Then they go into storage containers, which get opened every day for a while and the buds fluffed before sealing again.

My my! It is an odiferous process, but it is so neat to be able to smell the cure as the bouquet goes from spicy mown grass to rich emerald nugs!
