Awww--being 74, I'd have to beat on him for at least 19 minutes to subdue him. Dammit--I forgot to beat him when he was little.
thats why you should have been paid more, while those who stoold around should have been paid less. only fair for the wages they left on the table go to those who work. why should they earn the same as you when they perform less...just because the gov't set a floor on wages?
Well, I can agree with you there. I worked five times as hard as them and didn't get a bonus while they made the same.
I can't wait til Friday...seriously. I want this money.... some stuff I need to buy. (okay, sorry.. back on topic).... I'm not gonna beat my kid. That's so mean. (yea, that's the topic, right?)
Yeah--I worked my ass off every job I had. I tried to outwork everybody---just because. And I did it too---except one time when I was competing with a giant Samoan loading 90 pound roll roofing OVERHEAD. OOOOO--that one hurt.
lol@fitz... and yea, to scratcho.... well, for me it was always simple at any job and every job- if i'm going to work... I don't want to get bored, right? I get bored working very easily UNLESS i'm working and working and working non-stop... so time goes fast... so the busier I'd be, the faster time would go... and then work would be over... so I'd work hard to make time go quick. Simple. That standing around shit... I'd start watching the clock... (Freaking McCain is on tv laughing about playing poker during the senate hearings and giggling about it. what a dork.)
Excuse me for saying so, but a person has to be a self starter to work piecework as I did for years. Sit around=no $. Go late=less $. Start early and work late=$$$$. Plus I was fast at it. I did cause ONE roof leak in Florida. Fixed it. Maybe food service is not amenable to piecework.
sad thing is last month I deposited almost $9000, now it's down to a couple hundred But at least it's enough to get a Six dollar burger at Carl's and help support some miserable slacker (gotta stay on topic)
oh and to the second part, that's good. haha. I loved it when I worked at coldstone. People actually give you TIPS there. and you get to eat lots of ice cream.
Well my daughter started college on the opposite coast, so we're talking airfares, car rentals, yada, yada. Thank God she is a lot smarter than me and 90% of tuition was covered by scholarships, we only had to take out a loan for a little over $10,000 at 6% with deferred payments. Can't complain.:mickey:
Man I feel bad for the Americans. Minimum wage here is around $15 I guess; my 14 y/o little bro was earning $20/hr in his summer job. Some of the guys I work with earn $400+ per day.. Sure, cost of living is higher, but.. there is no doubt things are bad in America. It's hard for me to even imagine bothering going to work for $7/hour, especially when it's a shitty job where you get pissed on by customers and supervisors alike. Knowing that the corporation you work for doesn't give a single shit about you and would happily fire you to save $0.05/hour probably doesn't make things much better. I think all the naysayers should be in full support of these people getting a higher wage, if for no other reason than to stick it to the exploitative corporations. They are fat and rich off the toils of people trying to get by, and will go to any length to increase their profit even the tiniest sliver of a percent.
