So I was watching Jeopardy, and apparently according to one question Herpes is linked to causing cervical cancer?

Can anybody shed light on information about this?

I know HPV virus is strongly linked and proven to cause cervical cancer, but herpes?

Herpes is like everywhere and like at times I feel 70% of the developed world's human beings have it.

I do not know if the Jeopardy question was referring to Simplex 1 or Simplex 2, so for this post, consider this a two tiered question one asking the question with the context of Herpes Simplex 1, and the other Herpes Simplex 2.

Imagine playing Jeorpardy with herpes being one of the categories.

"I'd like herpes for... er, wait, no, I mean, give me herpes...wait, no, not that either..."

Yeah. Unless it was a live show, any reactions to the answer of that question would be edited out before airing on TV.

Seriously though no answers to the OP?

Herpes simplex virus is considered as a potential therapy for cancer and has been extensively clinically tested to assess its oncolytic (cancer killing) ability.[49] Interim overall survival data from Amgen's phase 3 trial of a genetically-attenuated herpes virus suggests efficacy against melanoma.../wiki
