my mom, for a lot of reasons. i think she is a great example of someone rising above a lot of bad things, and still coming out basically intact. she has also passed along to me many of the things that i think are important values....love of animals, the importance of doing your best for your children, the joy in creating something with your own hands, and keeping your sense of humor, no matter what. my friend, luke, for saying and doing exactly as he damn well pleases, always, and for being one of the most grounded, objective people i know. also for choosing to see everything in life as amusing. my husband, for his sense of humor, and for all of the things he is and does. omg, i'm such a sap...
