Just finished Steppenwolf in less than a week, loved it. During the journey into the first door where they're up on the roof shooting people in the cars driving by, I had been reading for a hour when I came to the part and it started getting so intense I seriously had to put the book down because I was starting to get freightened. And oh how long for a woman such as Hermine, Hesse's description of her elegance astounds me.
    Peace

For me Iris by Hesse is his best work. Its short and to the point. Delivered with such eloquence, I wonder if any one else has read it and if so what do you think?:D

I've read Sidartha,Damian and most of Hess's books but my ultimate
favourite is Stepponwolf. It's just so majestic and Atmospheric
    and Phsychedelic.
I guess I fear reading it again cause Im scared it won't have the
same effect it had the first time.

i read some of his books, finding them mostly awsome, especially the one tilted in french "le jeu de perles de verre". reading that takes you to another level.
