Ooops, I didn't read far enough on that page. My guesses weren't so right. http://www.healthcommunities.com/ar...ditional-chinese-medicine-and-arthritis.shtml I've got osteoarthritis and fibromyalgia.
^ sorry to hear that. I heard there was a study in which 100% of people treated with acupuncture showed at least some level of improvement. I think it has also been endorsed by the World Health Organization for treating a variety of diseases, including arthritis. I recommend checking it out, but it's sometimes quite pricey. There's an acupuncture school clinic in the Boston area that does treatments for like $15 for an hour. I think some places will charge $200 and up, which is crazy. If you can get a good price from someone who is qualified, it's worth it. The book that I mentioned might help.
I'm supposed to wait 5 days, then if there's no significant improvement, make an appointment with a specialist. Thank you
Yeah, I can hobble around. Today I could walk a little better. It would probably be better if I took my pain meds, but I won't take them while I'm caring for kids.
I find that I sometimes hurt myself more if I take a pain pill and go do something active. The pain reminds me not to over-do, whereas sometimes a pain pill will mask the reality of what's going on in the moment.
I've come to the conclusion that pain pills are for you to get up and feel good and get housework done..and keep having to go back to the doctor for. lol I've experienced the wonderful effects of acupuncture, but the lady I went to has moved out of town and the sessions are $115 per. Right now I'm going to a chiropractor, but that is beside the point. I sure do hope you feel better...and behave (don't fall!)!
One really bad part of this is that Mama has to go all day without any strong pain medicine because she refuses to take it while doing her job (I find that very respectable). I know a lot of people would give in and take the risk.
