I am not a religious person. I'm not a fan of movies or even tv. I rarely watch either. But every single year I watch It's A Wonderful Life on xmas eve. I've done it for as long as I can remember. Sometimes I watch it by myself, sometimes others want to watch it with me. But I watch it one time every year. It's kind of a xmas gift to myself to remind me of how we should treat each other. It makes me happy. Merry Christmas, Happy Kwansa, Happy holidays...and all that good stuff! I hope you're all enjoying your holiday season. I am certainly enjoying mine.
Ive seen two parts this movie. one where hes running in the snow. and the oth;per every time and bell rings.. blah. I love 1930-40s movies.. but I cant sit thru a wonderful life.. watched 48hrs of charlie chan movies. pissed the last 2 are not available..
I've probably seen it like....30 times. I'm 38 so once a year since I was maybe 8? I love that movie!
Basically, it's about the little people vs. big money. The main character never got to leave his town and do all the things he wanted to do. He had his chances and always chose to do what he felt was right...which was to stay and help people....while watching others make it big after leaving. At a certain point he becomes disgusted and wonders why he was ever born to begin with. Then he gets shown what life, the town and the people would have been like had he really never been born. A bunch of other stuff happens in between all that. The end.
I usually watch "It's a Wonderful Life" every year also but this year I never got the chance. Maybe tomorrow. I also try to see Scrooge (A Christmas Carol) with Alistair Sim. I think it came out in 1951. Best version. Maybe I can see that sometime this week as well.
Say what? ^^^^^ I always preferred A Christmas Story, but I don't watch it anymore because it's been overplayed. A Diva's Christmas Carol was also entertaining when I was in high school. Confession: I haven't watched one holiday movie. The only movie I've watched is The Wizard of Oz the past couple months and I've seen it several times.
I don't really remember much about that movie, I've only watched it once. I remember liking the ending, I think.
He's just about to jump off the bring when Clarence appears and jumps first which prompts George to jump in and save him. In the next scene, Clarence irritates George by claiming to have saved him instead of the other way around.
I do like the film -and the message within it - for it gives Hope to the plodder - to those whose own Dreams are put on hold for others - for those whose Good Heart sees due reward for honesty, integrity and Faith in the goodness of their fellow man - though I think he should have done a deal with Clarence to 'dispose of' the meanie Mr Potter
I love It's a Wonderful Life. Great movie and a classic. I'm not religious either, but you have to appreciate the morals of the movie because they're really universal.
