I'm guessing she must have met someone at that point. It was so strange. She told me she missed me and that she loved me so much. How does someone turn on and off that like. Is she a psychopath? Just from what you said, I would say that her relationship with her child would be only a little different from the relationships she desperately craves, but are psychologically unable to hold onto. I could see her coming in and out of that child's life, unable to provide true love, but demanding it in return, manipulating and controlling the child--expecting the child to always be there for her when she demands it, but never there for the child. The child will grow up with very similar issues and the dysfunctional problems will continue into the next generations.
