Woooo... I don't think we can really compare these two people. And for what it's worth, the music in Stairway to Heaven was a complete rip.
Page- more melodic than most Hendrix stuff. (Can't think of Stairway to Heaven without hearing the Rolf Harris version in my head!)
Hendrix, of course. I've seen them both live. Hendrix is like a medicine man performing a healing. :H Bambi
well, I dunno, it's impossible to pick. Now if it is just Hendrix there on stage, well, he can sing too, as well as play. If Page has Robert Plant *swoon* there with him, woo that would be great to see. I can't say I'm really really deep into either of these guitarists music, but I do love them both. Ummm... oh.... can't...pick.... maybe Page... just personal tastes, I guess... but I will never make a decision on this one... it's too hard. They both played sexy guitar. WOO HOO frikken great show to see.
They are both about equal just excelling at different aspects of the same art. The straight up technical ability goes to Hendrix. But the sheer amount of musical composition contained in pages noggin is astounding. When most would stop a one riff per song page would come up two, three, sometimes even four in one song. Hendrix's style came right the heart and soul though. You would think his guitar were alive with the way he made it sing.
it's not a very good comparison, they are both amazing. but in different ways. yeah, hendrix can go a mile a minuet. but page would out-blues him anyday.
it really is a ridiculous comparison. i mean, psychedelia mixed with a bit of funk, versus an extremely hard bluesy rocker? ...no.
I would have to say Hendrix tho i LOVE Zepplin. Hendrix has more of those kick ass phycodelic sounds but Page still rocks.
ok this is a quick question about Hendrix. because although I love music i don't know very much about it. I assume many of you have heard the recording "Are You Experienced"... what in the hell is that sound effect I hear in that record. oh, I wish i could better explain myself, but it's difficult to find the correct words, which seem to be slipping away from me . I've heard the sound efect in a few Beatles records too I think... does anybody know what that is? If it's obvious, sorry, i have a tendency to miss things that are clear as day. :& and if you all think im a crazy moron... i wont argue. ~peace~
In the end, comparing the two will always be just a matter of opinion. We could go on forever discussing what the two guys did, and are still doing for the world of music, but we could never really come to a conclusion on it as to who was "better". They were both very different musically too, so I dont think this is a fair fight, really.
man you can't just say hendrix is better or page is better man. they are both different. they both have great talent. man do you think that if hendrix & page were here they'd say "o i am way better" no man they'd compliment the other artist man. a true musician doesn't just think that he/she's the best. ya know man? hendrix was great, but then again so was page, in their own ways. both made great music & that's all that matters rite man?
