Ok, so I got this mold to do some fungi chocolates, but I am starting to wonder if this is going to be big enough (the bigger ones, not the smaller ones) I have scoured the threads and other sites hoping to see if anyone else has attempted using this mold or not. I'm going for 2 g chocolates. So I guess my question is, have any of you used this mold before? If so how heavy were your doses? http://www.amazon.com/CK-Products-4...07643&sr=8-2&keywords=mushroom+chocolate+mold Sorry, couldn't get this link/pic to attach properly.
They are too small to make 2 gram chocolates Unless you want really really grainy gross looking choclates that fall apart. I just use ice cube trays Fill the tray half up with chocolate and let set for a minute..... Pour in you two grams of finely ground mushrooms and top off with chocolate.. The use a toothpick to stir them to mix in the mushrooms. This wahy you are sure that every chocolate has exactly two grams in it. Or I use my grateful death ice cube tray but they are only good for 1 gram chocolates. http://www.amazon.com/Grateful-Dead-Dancing-Bears-Cube/dp/B000CF698A/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1379832677&sr=8-1&keywords=Ice+cube+tray+grateful+dead"]Grateful Dead Dancing Bears Ice Cube Tray: Kitchen & Dining: Amazon.com Here are alot of good silicone ice cube trays out there.... Star wars ones.... Batman... Submarines..... Ones thst look like easter island heads....ect.
I don't really want to use ice cube trays...looking for something cool looking. I may either just make one gram chocolates or go back to the cake shop and look around for a bigger mold. I saw this mold online and couldn't really tell if it was big enough or not until I had it in my hand. I had a feeling it wouldn't quite cut it. Thanks for the advice!!
I know right?? I already ordered that mold on amazon right after I saw your post. hahaha. Got it for $6 plus shipping. Can't beat it.
