I've been on that site before, and it's a great website. I wish I could do more to help the rainforest.

Some folks say charity for the rainforest is not a sustainable economic model.

IE when indigenous people in the rainforest get money from foreign white people...they get confused, and spend the money on things like houses in civilized cities...therefore leaving their land and not becoming a responsible steward of it and guarding it from this that and the other thing that are trying to exploit it.

Charity is great and all, but it does not automatically heal all things like we would like to think! Problems can be a little more tricky than "Just throw money at it, it will get better"

If anyone is interested in learning about a sustainable economic model with indigenous people in the rainforest, please check this website out - http://174486.amazonherb.net/RS_0_0_Main.aspx

If a tree falls on Garfield in the woods and no one is around....Does it make a sound?

Yes I truly think even if man isn't around with his ears, the falling of tree is heard.
