Ah, puberty. It sucks, and it sucks worse when you're depressive by nature (like me.). All I can suggest is to wait it out and see if it gets better. Don't be afraid to just find a quiet place to cry for an hour at a time. It really helps. I got so bad last winter (the Seasonals combined with family issues) that I was throwing up. The campus shrinks just wanted to medicate me into docility, so I stopped going. I got some goldfish, and planted a small garden in the windowsill.

How much caffeine do you drink? The crashes can get brutal sometimes. I cut caffeine for a time, and my bad spells got much better. They didn't go away, but they got manageable.

    The things to remember:
DO NOT LET THE DOCTORS MEDICATE YOU UNLESS THERE ARE TESTS FOR CHEMICAL DISORDERS. Not all depression is a medical disorder. Sometimes you really have a problem in your life to work out. No one can do that but you. A therapist can help you do it, but you are going to have to do the work. The solution may not be easy, but it will be there for you to choose to do. Taking pills in these cases is just putting off the problem. Even if you do have a medical disorder, and puberty does not count ;), the medicine is your choice. Mine is partially a mild chemical disorder. Medication was reccomended, but I could live normally without it so I didn't take it.

Keep mobile. The worst thing you can do is to just sink back and let the depression take over. Force yourself to go to school, or to work, or to your projects. Hell, go for a walk. Go visit someone you love (They are not therapists.). Get out of the house for a time. I've done it, and I've seen it. The further you go into it, the harder it is to get out.

Try something different in your life. Get a new hobby, change your diet (Record the mental differences.), or exeperiment with yoga. You don't have to keep the change, but the switch may just jar you out of it a little. Go vegan for a week. Learn to knit. Try learning a new language. If it's not fun, STOP.

The problem with me is i'm sick as well as being depressed. I have real life matters making me sad and a sickness which also could be a cause of part of the depression. It's squashing what's left of my sanity. Pretty much i have been waiting for years now for it to stop. Sometimes i have to go to the bathroom in school and sulk. It's not fun. It sucks. And i don't want to put the burden of myself onto other people which is why i've stopped talking to people about it. There really is no solution. So it is kind of pointless for me to sit around and ask for one to people. But if i didn't have anyone who would listen to me i probably wouldn't be here right now.

    PunkHippie,

It sounds to me like you may be a notch beyond normal teenage angst into proper depression. I can't really tell from here, but if it may be a good idea to talk to your regular doctor about it. Be warned that they may want to medicate you. This sux0rs, but you should look at it like having surgery to put in implants for a badly broken bone. The treatment is pretty bad, but if the injury is bad enough, then things are much worse without it.

Before you resort to those things, let me suggest a few non-chemical treatments:

    1) Control. It sounds like you feel out of control. Helplessness is often the beginning of depression. Realize that you DO have some control of your situation, and that the more decisions you make, the more decisions that you are able to make. (This is really what being "grown-up" is all about, anyway. Deciding and taking the consequences of your own choices.)

    2) Exercise. Seriously. Hard aerobic workouts are best. If you're a couch potato this may be hard, and it can be very tough to get started. Make yourself do it anyway. You will really feel MUCH better. (You may have a "boomerang" effect after the first few times you start working out. Expect it, deal with it, know that better is coming.)

    3) Daylight. Sunshine and fresh air whenever possible. Eat lunch quickly and take the rest of the time to go for a walk outside.

    4) Change of scenery. Just change something.

    5) Friends. Good ones.

Oh yeah, avoid alcohol and other recreational chemicals. They will make you feel much, much worse in the long run.

Finally, realize that you are just now becoming aware of the fullness of being an adult, and it can be a little overwhelming. Old folks are NOT beyond what you are dealing with. In fact, life just gets more and more complex as we go. However, we can get much better at dealing. Don't assume that you know what's going on inside of someone else's life. You've been pretty effective at hiding this, haven't you?

One thing the years can give is a bigger perspective. Life is bigger than your problems. You may not be able to see the other side now, but I'm telling you that there is a good life beyond your present situation.

Hang on, better times are coming. :)

Exercise. Releases Dopamine in your brain which take away depressive moods. Other than that, don't over-react. You can easily blow something way out of proportion. At your age I had the same issues, but they are so small compared to the planet and all the souls on it.

I've tried many times to cool myself and not take things too seriously. No matter what the depression still finds me somewhere. Even if i hide myself in hobbies and things i love to do. I've always had that problem. Maybe one day when i'm older and free to do as i want i'll feel better but that's 3 years from now and i don't think i can last even a few months. It all just feels like a loop.
