Good day to you Pax man and thank you so much for your message and concern for me getting ripped. I really appreciate that. I will be going this afternoon to check in on Pepper and most certainly now asking to see the x-ray. I am going to bring a good friend with me for her opinion also. I will keep you posted and again thank you so much for your thoughts. To be honest the bill of this is a huge issue for me as vet bills add up in no time at all.

That would really suck. I have heard a LOT lately about vets (and plastic surgeons) doing stuff like this =/

Well although not happy Pepper has had such a bad week it does appear that there was a big wad of gum blocking her intestine. My friend and I both looked really good at the x rays there were two and he didn't have any problem showing them to me at all. I said I just didn't understand how the gum could cause so much trouble. I could see something in the x ray that looked not right and he then went over it explaining what was what and pointed the blockage right out. It was not not white on the x ray.? I think this was just a severe case of shit luck? I hope so at any rate. Pepper is home tomorrow and I am glad it is over.
Thanks again all for your help.

I should have explained to you what the barium swallow is. It's a liquid that is given orally. So when the xray is taken, every place that the barium is able to get to will show up white. It would only go as far as the blockage and no further. You'd have to be a radiologist to be able to be able to tell if it was something like gum that was stuck in the intestines. Gum is a soft material and may not show up in the xray [not enough contrast]. If you need any more info, please don't hesitate to contact me.

Pepper is adorable. I guess it's a good thing you took her in and I'm glad to see you care so much. Good luck to you both.
