I'm hoping someone can help me? last night i had a terrifying dream. It was more so this morning, my boyfriend got up early to go to work and i said bye then i led there for about 5 minutes, and even though i cant remember it, i must have fallen asleep. At this point, even though it was getting light outside, the room went completely black, and i was led in my bed, everything looked the same, but then i started uncontrolabely spinning, i can't really make out whether or not it if it was me that was spinning, or the room, or the bed but i'm almost certain it was me/my head. anyway i was spinning and i was slowly rising up and there was a piece of plastic under my head, even though i was led facing the ceiling i suddenly had a quick side angle of what was happening and just remember seeing plastic under my head, i think i was slightly hovering above my bed and i could slightly lift my head, i was trying all i could to shout for help as whilst i was spinning i could swear i could see a woman standing really close to be but it was blurred where i was spinning so fast, i was crying and screaming but nothing would come out.. then i remember my words were finally able to come out i was saying oh my god oh my god and i was able to speak and then i woke up.. It wasn't nice, it felt like someone was going to hurt me, i was really scared and in my dream i remember thinking that i was going to die, this dream only lasted for a few minutes (i think) it seemed to be very quick. Please someone help me with this? xx
I've had many dreams where I'm screaming for my life but nothing will come out. Or trying to run from something and I'm frozen. I feel like its the subconscious trying to make us aware of a problem we have been avoiding. Important thing is, you are awake now and it's not going to harm you. Take a deep breath and try to relax.
Hmmmm i don't know, It is something different to something i have ever experienced, i have never experienced anything like it, it did terrify me, i know it can't hurt me, but i would like to have an idea of what it could be. x
I din't hear anything but i felt my body going completely numb, even though i can't really remember anything before falling into the dream, i do remember feeling numb then everything going black, and then everything was spinning, then i started rising up above my bed towards this (what i think was a woman) and i was crying cuz i thought she was going to hurt me and in my dream i KNEW i was going to die sort of thing, if it makes any sense? i have never had a dream before where everything looks the same, but literally my whole room was exactly as it is
Is your bedroom cold? That can invoke bad dreams/nightmares.. Also sounds like its your typical "I feel like my life is spinning out of control bad dream" maybe somethings been bothering you lately.
The spinning part of your dream could possibly mean that you feel like you are not in control of your life at this point in time. Maybe there are issues that you have been avoiding. The woman in your dream may have been your spirit guide. There is no need to be afraid. If you ever have this sort of thing happen again, once you are able to speak, ask the woman if she could please make the spinning stop. When it stops, ask her if she could please tell you what is going on. You might find that she is really not as scary as she seems.
You might have been having what's called a Dream Exit Induced Lucid Dream, or DEILD. This is a lucid dreaming technique, but it can also happen accidentally. Basically what happens is you wake up briefly from a dream and then fall back asleep, but you are aware that you are falling asleep. Lucid dreamers use this to end up in a dream and know that they are dreaming. When you fall asleep, your body goes into a state called sleep paralysis, where you can't move any of your muscles. This is so your muscles are shut down during dreams and helps prevent things like sleepwalking. When you are aware during the process of falling asleep, this can be a frightening sensation. Everyone's experience with sleep paralysis is different, but people commonly experience vertigo, inability to move or speak, feeling of a weight on their chest, feeling of an evil presence, and hallucinations. All of these things are natural and a part of your brain's transitioning from being awake to dreaming. They happen to everyone every night, but we are usually so close to sleep that we aren't really aware of it. Typically there is some technique to inducing DEILD's, but on occasion they will just randomly happen. I had an accidental DEILD once as well, and it was very similar to your experience. However, since I'm an experienced lucid dreamer I knew what was happening and didn't get scared, so I was able to stay with it until I found myself in a dream. In your experience, you didn't know what happened, so you started to get scared. When you get scared in a dream, your brain starts releasing adrenaline, and eventually you will snap awake, which is what happens to most people during nightmares. Having this happen not on command is rare, so if that's what you're worried about don't be. Also know that nothing in this process is harmful, it's all totally natural and can even be utilized to take control of your dreams. Stay lucid my friends
So this is actually very common of an experience. I could explain a lot.. but to just jump straight to the point, your subconscious mind is going to amplify your emotions in the dream. Learn to take control, happy energy will create happy dreams/meditations. Bad energy/fear will worsen the scenario dramatically
I get dreams like this all the time, especially when I was younger, would be walking with my sister and brother and someone near us would threaten us but my brother would be well ahead of us and I would scream his name for help only to find my voice not there, woke a few times screaming out loud. One time when I was a kid my sister and I had bunk beds because our house then was smaller for a couple years and we shared the room which wasn't all that big then. I was on the top bunk and had a fight with my friend on a mountain top and it ended with me taking a swing at her and missing her and falling down the side of the mountain screaming. I hit a tall book shelf with my face several times before being on the floor. My parents heard the scream and so did the neighbors, supposedly it was a blood curdling screaming event. When they got in our room I was laying on the floor, my sister freaking out and likely knocked out with blood all over the place and my teeth gone through my bottom lip. Lots of bruising for weeks over that. They say if you fall to your death in a dream you will die... Not so in my case but I sure did get injured badly. I used to have very powerful dreams and still do sometimes where they wake me in fear with my heart racing. Once my hubby woke me from screaming and he said it was like I wasn't even there till he shook me a few times and I realized where I was and that he was there and I was ok. Dreams can be about what's happening in your life and what worries you have and even about good things like winning a lottery which I think are about your future feeling safe for you. I have some where a friend takes us all on a cruise even tho I would never go on a boat. Some where people I knew years ago are there with people I know now.
i know this is going to sound almost nonsequiter to say, but; ear infection? i mean spinning<dizziness<ear infection can cause that. well also there are several other physical things, that yes, this would have an effect into a falling back to sleep dream without waking you up from it. you know, like blood sugar imbalance, that may happen waking up without eating anything, especially if you've been fasting or simply not getting adiquite nourishment.
