Our annual burlesque show fundraiser for derby is coming up in a couple months. I'm going to sing a song, but I'm not sure which one yet. Suggestions? I'm going with a 50's-ish/rockabilly costume, so a song to match that would be awesome. I'm thinking something slow that I can make sultry and do a little dance to. (We keep it classy, so don't get it twisted.) Maybe this? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TY4uxdAt4-M"]Paul Anka - Put Your Head On My Shoulder (1963 Version) - YouTube

I love this song but it's more of a love song slow dance kind of thing https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SeCpQ6n5YwU"]Ritchie Valens - We Belong Together w/ Lyrics - YouTube
That's actually the style of song I think I might go for. I need something that will fit my style of voice as well. Maybe I'll record something and post, so y'all will know what I'm working with.
It's not Rockabilly, but it's era appropriate! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Dw0nl9kjAIc"]Frank Zappa and The Mothers Of Invention - In The Sky ('68) - YouTube
^^^@gongshaman Good lawd. I don't think I can make my voice do that haha. I did a quick, shitty recording of me singing the first song I posted. I'll put it up in a minute, so ya'll have a rough idea of what my voice sounds like.
Mkay, here's me singing....perhaps this will well help with song suggestions. I did a lot of yelling at derby practice last night....so I'm aware my pitch is all shitty in parts. Also, I didn't feel like being on camera, so ya'll get to look at the light on the ceiling haha. removed

I feel like I'd have to switch from 50's/rockabilly attire, to my velvet corset and thigh high vinyl platform boots to sing that. It's not an all together bad idea....
