I don't know if anyone is going to read this but I am looking for conversation about anything. The days are short and I need to fill my evenings with things that are good. This forum seems very interesting, my days now are filled with taking hikes with my dog and plain old living. I don't want to listen to rants but would like to get a good Baked Bean recipe. Peace.

Welcome from the High Country (Colorado). I have to think about the bean recipe. I have a couple of neat Jam recipes.

Hey good to hear from you. I was thinking about moving to Colorado last year, I was looking at some land near Livermore. I see that some of the access to that property was washed out by the flooding out there.

I would like to get some of your jam recipes, I like to make gifts for Christmas and Jam seems good.

Hi Running, I got a choke cherry jam recipe from an old pioneer woman. You have to cut out the pits (seeds) and use a nut cracker to break them up then you boil them. Then you pour the boiled water (without the pits) back in with the cherry fruit and organic sugar and boil again to make the thick jam. It comes out nice and will have a great nutty taste. Great for breakfast with fresh hot baked bread.

I have come across choke cherries, I have sucked the fruit from several of them, I can't imagine collecting enough to make Jam. Pioneers must have had alot more time.

What forums should I check out? I am interested in talking about everyday living and don't want to get involved in playing word or mind games. I hope there's someone here that will help guide me to the right forum.

    Thanks, Richard
