I took German thrice! In my middle-college years I needed language to transfer to the Business program at a larger school. I was misguided in my reasoning however. I had animosity and prejudice was involved, but I'm reformed and rehabilitated.


Anyway, German is beautiful, I love Berlin's Love Parade; though it's no more, and find Germans to be a very "cool" (for lack of better terminology) people.

My mother is of German heritage - her grandma spoke German to them; though mom doesn't speak any.

oh wow, that's so cool! well, i've lived in Texas for almost a year (exchange student program when i was 16) and i've met a lot of Americans with German ancestry during my time, some even still had German last names. the US is a nation of immigrants after all, something a lot of Americans seem to forget.

oh yeah, the Love Parade was quite something, but i was too young to attend it myself and the last one was in 2010 after it moved from Berlin to the Ruhr area and it ended in a tragedy. i don't know if you have heard of it, but more than 20 people died in a stampede which marked the sad and ultimative end of the Love Parade in Germany.

anyway, i'm glad to be here. these forums look so vast and versatile, i'm sure i'll find something to talk about. thank you for the warm welcome!
